Omschrijving
Ten noordoosten van de begraafplaats, aan de voet van de trapsgewijze opgang gelegen hoefijzervormig AMFITHEATER uit 1951. Aan de westzijde (zeezijde) een gebosseerde licht gebogen muur en spreekstoel in Maulbronner zandsteen. Naar het oosten een oplopend onverhard terrein waarin negen licht gebogen natuurstenen treden. Het amfitheater is bereikbaar middels twee toegangspaden.
Waardering
Door de ligging aan de voet van de opgang naar de entree van de begraafplaats heeft het AMFITHEATER ruimtelijk en functioneel een betekenisvolle relatie tot de begraafplaats en speelt het een essentiële rol in rituele herdenkingsbijeenkomsten. De oriëntatie op het westen, waar de zon ondergaat, symboliseert de bezinning op de dood. De muur en de spreekstoel hebben architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege sobere en krachtige vormgeving en materialisatie. Het amfitheater heeft landschappelijke waarde door de ligging en oriëntatie in het duinlandschap en de verwevenheid van architectuur en natuur.

North-east of the cemetery, at the foot of the stepped access, a horseshoe-shaped AMPHITHEATRE from 1951. On the west side (seaward side) a rusticated slightly curved wall and rostrum in Maulbronner sandstone. Towards the east a rising unvegetated terrain in which nine slightly curved natural stone steps. The amphitheatre is accessible by means of two access paths.
Valuation
Through its location at the foot of the access to the entrance of the cemetery the AMPHITHEATRE has a meaningful spatial and functional relationship to the cemetery and plays an essential role in ritual commemorative gatherings. The orientation to the west, where the sun sets, symbolizes contemplation of death. The wall and rostrum have architectural-historical value on account of sober and powerful design and materialization. The amphitheatre has landscape value through its location and orientation in the dune landscape and the interweaving of architecture and nature.
