Inleiding.
GRAFMONUMENT op het kerkhof achter de Rooms Katholieke kerk Heilige Johannes Geboorte in Eclectische stijl. Het graf ligt in het middenvak van het linkergedeelte van de begraafplaats, dicht achter de kerk.
Omschrijving.
Vierzijdig samengesteld monument. Ervoor een liggende natuurstenen dekplaat. Het onderste gedeelte van de zuil is een eenvoudig voetstuk. Daarop verdiept liggende vlakken in geprofileerde lijsten. Hierin zijn teksten en afbeeldingen aangebracht. Dit zijn aan de voorkant: twee schuin geplaatste wapenschilden met een kroon erboven. Links het opschrift: BEGRAAFPLAATS/ VAN DE FAMILIE/ DER BEZITTERS VAN/ ONZENOORD EN NIEUWKUIK. Het opschrift in het rechter veld is nauwelijks leesbaar: "WEEST GE... DIE HET WOORD VAN GOD VERKONDIGD HEBBEN HEB.XIII.7. Boven deze vlakken zijn driehoekige frontons aangebracht. De velden daarboven bevatten opnieuw reliëfs, aan de voor- en achterkant enkele vanitas-symbolen zoals schedels, een urn met draperie en een zandloper. Op de zijkanten een afbeelding van Oeroboeros, de slang die zichzelf in de staart bijt, in een dekoratieve omlijsting gezet. Op smalle lijsten daarboven zijn achtereenvolgens het opschrift "MEMENTO MORI", in reliëf een hamer en nijptang, twee gekruiste werktuigen (een speer en...). De zuil wordt bekroond door een halve bol met daarop een kruis.
Waardering.
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang wegens typologie en als voorbeeld van de katholieke grafcultuur. Het is van architectuurhistorisch belang wegens ornamentiek, vormgeving en materiaalgebruik. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven.

GRAVE MONUMENT in the churchyard behind the Roman Catholic church Heilige Johannes Geboorte in Eclectic style. The grave lies in the centre section of the left part of the burial ground, close behind the church.

Four-sided composite monument. In front of it a recumbent natural stone slab. The lower part of the pillar is a simple plinth. Upon it recessed fields in moulded cornices. Within these are texts and images. These are at the front: two diagonally placed coats of arms with a crown above. On the left the inscription: BURIAL PLACE/ OF THE FAMILY/ OF THE OWNERS OF/ ONZENOORD AND NIEUWKUIK. The inscription in the right field is scarcely legible: "BLESSED ARE... WHO HAVE PROCLAIMED THE WORD OF GOD HEB.XIII.7. Above these fields triangular pediments are placed. The fields above contain reliefs again; on the front and back certain vanitas symbols such as skulls, an urn with drapery and an hourglass. On the sides an image of Ouroboros, the serpent biting itself in the tail, set in a decorative frame. On narrow cornices above are successively the inscription "MEMENTO MORI", in relief a hammer and pincers, two crossed implements (a spear and...). The pillar is crowned by a half sphere with a cross upon it.
