Inleiding.
WOONHUIS, gebouwd voor leerfabrikant T. Ligtenberg Daufzenberg in circa 1925. In de bouwstijl zijn elementen van Expressionisme verwerkt.
Omschrijving.
Tweelaags woonhuis met een samengesteld dak. Het huis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond onder een schilddak. De nok is iets hoger opgetrokken, aan de zijkanten zijn kleine driehoekige daklichten geplaatst. De voorgevel heeft een asymmetrische opbouw en is voor een klein gedeelte hoger opgetrokken met een schilddak tegen het dakvlak van de hoofdmassa. De twee erkers zijn van tentdaken met pirons voorzien. Het dak heeft een overstek met een brede lijstgoot. Ongeveer in het midden bevindt zich een monumentale ingangspartij. De houten deur heeft dekoratieve elementen in Expressionistische vormgeving.
Aan weerszijden van de deur staat een gemetselde pijler met kolom als dragers van een luifel. Boven de luifel een klein balkon. Rechts van ingang en balkon een brede erker met afgeschuinde zijden. Links tegen de gevel is een smallere tweezijdige erker gezet. De bovenlichten van de raampartijen zijn gevuld met glas-in-lood in geometrische patronen. Tegen de rechterzijgevel is een grote erker onder schilddak gebouwd. De bovenste randen van de schoorstenen zijn voorzien van een zwart-wit geblokte band.
In het midden van de linkerzijgevel is een smal, hoog raam aangebracht. Ervoor enkele samengestelde ramen, gevuld met glas-in-lood, erachter kleine staande ramen. Historisch hekwerk op lage tuinmuur.
Waardering.
Het woonhuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de leer- en schoenindustrie in de Langstraat. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de toepassing van actuele stijlvormen aan een fabrikantenwoning en wegens de vormgeving en het materiaalgebruik.
