Omschrijving
Inleiding.
Half vrijstaande LOOIERSWONING met bedrijfsruimte uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw. Het object bestaat uit een woonhuis met kantoor en een aangebouwde leerlooierij die haaks op het woongedeelte staat. Het werd gebouwd in opdracht van C. van Dongen. De woning ligt aan de Heuvel, het bedrijfsgedeelte staat daar haaks op, iets versprongen ten opzichte van het huis en grenst aan een zijpad.
Omschrijving.
Eénlaags gebouw op een L-vormige plattegrond, onder samengesteld zadeldak, gedekt met kruispannen. De voorgevel van het huis is uitgevoerd in baksteen en heeft een gepleisterde plint. In deze gevel vernieuwde zesruitsramen en een deur met bovenlicht. Boven de twee meest linkse ramen is een doorlopende houten balk op klossen geplaatst.
In het dakvlak zijn twee (na-oorlogse) dakkapellen aangebracht. De rechterzijgevel van het huis en de daaraangrenzende lange gevel van het looierijgedeelte zijn uitgevoerd in ijsselsteen.
De gevel van het bedrijfsgedeelte verspringt ten opzicht van de zijgevel van het woonhuis. Het woongedeelte heeft een zesruitsraam. In het looierijgedeelte heeft het bovenste gedeelte van de zijgevel een gepotdekselde houten beschieting met luiken. Daaronder zijn kleine getoogde vierruitsraampjes gezet. De achtergevel is voorzien van pakhuisdeuren en getoogde raampjes. Het dak heeft windveren.
Met uitzondering van een klein vierruitsraam in de top is de linkerzijgevel blind.
Waardering.
Het pand is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de leerindustrie in de Langstraat en is van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de huislooierij als vroeg en kleinschalig begin van de industriële fase van het looiersbedrijf. Het heeft ensemblewaarde wegens de betekenis van het object als onderdeel van de Heuvel, een gebied dat cultuurhistorisch van belang is vanwege de verscheidenheid aan voorbeelden van de leerindustrie. Semi-detached LEATHER TANNER'S HOUSE with business premises from the second half of the nineteenth century. The object consists of a dwelling house with office and an adjoining tannery positioned at right angles to the residential part. It was built by order of C. van Dongen. The house is situated on the Heuvel, the business part stands at right angles there, slightly offset in relation to the house and borders on a side path.
Description.
Single-storey building on an L-shaped plan, under a hipped roof, covered with interlocking tiles. The front façade of the house is executed in brick and has a plastered plinth. In this façade are renewed six-pane windows and a door with fanlight. Above the two leftmost windows a continuous wooden beam has been placed on corbels.
In the roof plane two (post-war) roof dormers have been inserted. The right side façade of the house and the adjoining long façade of the tannery part are executed in Ijssel brick.
The façade of the business part is offset in relation to the side façade of the residential house. The residential part has a six-pane window. In the tannery part the upper part of the side façade has a cloaked wooden cladding with shutters. Below this are small arched four-pane windows. The rear façade is provided with warehouse doors and arched windows. The roof has wind braces.
With the exception of a small four-pane window in the gable, the left side façade is blind.
Valuation.
The property is of general interest. It has cultural-historical significance as an expression of the socio-economic development of the leather industry in the Langstraat and is of importance as an example of the typological development of the house tannery as an early and small-scale beginning of the industrial phase of the tanning business. It has ensemble value because of the significance of the object as part of the Heuvel, an area that is of cultural-historical importance because of the diversity of examples of the leather industry. It is also of importance because of the typological rarity of such a house tannery.
