Inleiding.
Vrijstaande VILLA, thans in gebruik als psychotherapeutisch centrum. Gebouwd in 1900 naar ontwerp van C.P. van Genk met elementen van het Eclecticisme en de Neo-Renaissance. Het pand ligt nabij de kern van Halsteren. Als gevolg van de gewijzigde functie heeft vooral het interieur diverse moderniseringen ondergaan.
Omschrijving.
Tweelaags pand op een vierkante plattegrond, op enkele hoeken uitgebreid met erkers en torentjes. Het samengestelde dak is gedekt met shingles. Het pand is uitgevoerd in baksteen, thans geheel, inclusief speklagen en natuurstenen decoraties, wit geverfd. De villa staat op een natuurstenen plint en heeft cordonlijsten. De rechterhoek van de zuidgevel is voorzien van een risaliet met uitkragende torentjes, bekroond door koepels met spitsen. Het linkeruiteinde heeft een erker met schuine zijden onder een omlopend dak, op de hoek op verdiepingshoogte een overhoeks geplaatste rechthoekige erker bekroond door een steile afgeplatte spits. Om de hoek, tegen de westgevel is een risaliet zichtbaar. De noordgevel heeft een middenrisaliet onder plat dak, hierin een gemoderniseerde ingang onder een grote luifel, erboven een hoog rondboograam. De oostgevel heeft een hoekrisaliet. De west- en zuidgevel zijn zichtbaar vanaf de straat en hebben aan de bovenkant en tussen de verdiepingen in lijsten met uitstekende knoppen. Om de ramen van de begane grond wenkbrauwbogen met sluitstenen en diamantkoppen, de ramen op de verdieping zijn voorzien van een gebogen fronton op consoles. De erker en hoektorentjes zijn op bewerkte consoles geplaatst. Tussen de bolle torentjes een balkon met smeedijzeren hek. In de gevels vooral, rechthoekige en getoogde schuiframen. Around the corner, against the west facade a risalit is visible. The north facade has a central risalit under flat roof, in it a modernised entrance under a large canopy, above it a tall round-arched window. The east facade has a corner risalit. The west and south facades are visible from the street and have at the top and between the storeys lists with protruding knobs. Around the ground floor windows eyebrow arches with keystones and diamond heads, the windows on the upper storey are provided with a curved pediment on consoles.
