Inleiding.
Het HERENHUIS werd gebouwd in 1902 in opdracht van C. Asselbergs in een aan het Eclectisme verwante stijl. Het pand ligt op hoek van de Koningstraat, het grotere buurpand op nummer 16 werd in hetzelfde jaar gebouwd.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse onderkelderde pand van drie traveeën heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en een afgeplat mansardedak waarop zinken losanges. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen. Horizontale gepleisterde accenten zijn de speklagen en de cordonlijst. De plint, trapje voor de voordeur en de doorlopende vensterdorpels met raambefjes zijn van hardsteen. De bovenlichten zijn voorzien van aanzetstenen en sluitsteen.
De paneeldeur met segmentboogvormig bovenlicht met glas-in-lood bevindt zich geheel links. Deze geverniste paneeldeur heeft kussenpanelen en een dubbel smeedijzeren sierrooster. De getoogde schuifvensters hebben een glas-in-lood bovenlicht. Het fries van de risaliet wordt geaccentueerd door diamantkopjes en een middenrozet. De kroonlijst rust op klosjes. Op het dak bevindt zich een dakkapel onder een plat dak, met kleine roedenverdeling in de openslaande raampjes.

The two-storey cellared building of three bays has a rectangular plan and a flat mansard roof on which zinc lozenges. The facades are built from machine-made brickwork. The fanlights are furnished with springing stones and keystone.
The panelled door with segmented arch fanlight with leaded glass is located at the far left. This varnished panelled door has cushion panels and a double wrought-iron ornamental grille.
