Omschrijving
Inleiding.
Twee WEVERSWONINGEN voor wevers uit het derde kwart van de 19de eeuw met een oudere kern. De vrijstaande woningen liggen op een rechthoekig perceel met de voorgevel op de perceelscheiding naar het noorden en zijn opgetrokken in Traditioneel-ambachtelijke vormentaal. De linker woning bestond in het begin van de 20ste eeuw uit twee woningen. Inwendig zijn ze samengevoegd tot een huis met behoud van de twee voordeuren.
Omschrijving.
De eenlaagse woningen met zolder hebben een zadeldak parallel aan de straat. Ze zijn gedekt met oud-Hollandse pannen. Alle drie de woningen hebben in de voorgevel een deur met een schuifvenster en luiken. Het voordeurkozijn bevat een bovenlicht en een paneeldeur. De rechter woning heeft een opgeklampte voordeur met kraaldelen. In de schuifvensters een twintigruits- roedenverdeling. De rechterzijgevel, die nu blind is uitgevoerd, vertoont in het metselwerk boven de zoldervloer een dichtgezet venstertje. Ook is de muur opgehoogd. De bouwsporen verwijzen naar een andere dakvorm behorende bij de oudere kern van de woningen. Tegen de linkerzijgevel is een schuur gebouwd onder lessenaarsdak belegd met oud-Hollandse pannen. De deuren en de vensters van de achtergevel zijn gewijzigd. Het opgaand werk bestaat uit handgevormde baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband. De woningen hebben een ruggelings gelegen boerenschouw en plavuizen vloer in de woonkamer. De zolderbalklaag bestaat uit gekantrechte juffers. Op het erf achter de woningen een gezamenlijke boerenhof met diverse oude fruitbomen.
Waardering.
De woningen zijn van algemeen belang. Ze hebben cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaaleconomische ontwikkeling van midden-Brabant en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het wevershuis in de omgeving van Tilburg. Ze zijn van architectuur-historisch belang vanwege de traditioneel-ambachtelijke vormgeving. Ze zijn gaaf bewaard gebleven, tonen nog steeds de eertijds algemeen gebruikelijke ambachtelijke constructies en zijn tevens van belang wegens de afleesbaarheid van de bouwgeschiedenis. Ze zijn als voorbeelden van de eens zo talrijke weverswoningen uiterst zeldzaam geworden.

Two WEAVERS' DWELLINGS for weavers from the third quarter of the 19th century with an older core. The detached houses stand on a rectangular plot with the front facade on the plot boundary facing north and are built in Traditional-vernacular language. The left house consisted of two houses at the beginning of the 20th century. Internally they have been combined into one house while retaining the two front doors.
Description.
The single-storey houses with attic have a gabled roof parallel to the street. They are covered with old-Dutch tiles. All three houses have a door with a sash window and shutters in the front facade. The front door frame contains a fanlight and a panelled door. The right house has a rebated front door with beaded sections. In the sash windows a twenty-pane glazing bar division. The right side gable, which is now blank, shows a small closed window in the brickwork above the attic floor. The wall has also been raised. The building traces indicate a different roof form belonging to the older core of the houses. Against the left side gable a barn has been built with a lean-to roof covered with old-Dutch tiles. The doors and windows of the rear facade have been altered. The external walls consist of hand-moulded brickwork laid in English bond. The houses have a back-gable farmhouse chimney and tiled floor in the living room. The attic beam layer consists of straightened joists. On the grounds behind the houses a shared farmyard with various old fruit trees.
Valuation.
The houses are of general importance. They have cultural-historical value as a particular expression of the socio-economic development of central Brabant and as an example of the typological development of the weaver's house in the Tilburg area. They are of architectural-historical importance because of the traditional-vernacular design. They have been well preserved, still showing the once common vernacular constructions and are also important because of the readability of the building history. As examples of the once so numerous weavers' dwellings they have become extremely rare.
