Inleiding
Bakstenen TRANSFORMATORHUISJE, gelegen op de hoek van de Weg naar de stenen tafel en de Weg achter het bos, tegenover de watertoren De Steenen Tafel. Dit trafohuisje is in 1925 gebouwd (waarschijnlijk in opdracht van het gemeentelijk elektriciteitsbedrijf) en vertoont kenmerken van de zakelijk expressionistische bouwtrant, met invloeden van de Nieuwe Haagse School.
Omschrijving
Bakstenen TRAFOHUISJE op rechthoekig grondplan (410 x 390 cm.) met plat dak. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in halfsteensverband in rode en gele baksteen. Het trasraam, het verspringende gevelvlak van de voorgevel en de strek boven één der deuren zijn van rode baksteen. Het bovenste deel van de gevels is bekleed met verticale stroken rode keramische tegels tussen kopse lagen gele baksteen. De voorgevel is voorzien van twee gekoppelde stalen deuren; de rechter deur reikt tot aan de band met keramische tegels, de linker deur is hoger in de gevel geplaatst (op de plint). De overige gevels zijn blind. Het betonnen platte dak heeft een forse overstek en wordt bekroond door een rechthoekig ventilatiekanaal.

Brick TRANSFORMER STATION, located at the corner of the Weg naar de stenen tafel and the Weg achter het bos, opposite the water tower De Steenen Tafel. Description
Brick TRANSFORMER STATION on a rectangular ground plan (410 x 390 cm.) with flat roof. The façades are constructed in half-brick bond in red and yellow brick. The trasraam, the projecting façade plane of the front façade and the band above one of the doors are of red brick. The upper part of the façades is clad with vertical strips of red ceramic tiles between headers of yellow brick. The front façade is provided with two coupled steel doors; the right door reaches up to the band with ceramic tiles, the left door is placed higher in the façade (on the plinth). The remaining façades are blank. The concrete flat roof has a substantial overhang and is crowned by a rectangular ventilation duct.
