Inleiding
Bakstenen TRANSFORMATORHUISJE, gesitueerd op de middenberm van de Van Heemstralaan bij de aansluiting op de Bakenbergseweg. Dit vrijstaande trafohuisje is ca. 1925 gebouwd (waarschijnlijk in opdracht van het gemeentelijk elektriciteitsbedrijf) en vertoont kenmerken van de expressionistische bouwtrant.
Omschrijving
Bakstenen TRAFOHUISJE op rechthoekig grondplan met geknikt schilddak. De gevels zijn in halfsteensverband gemetseld. Het dak is belegd met niet oorspronkelijke rode sneldekpannen en wordt bekroond door een rechthoekig houten ventilatiekanaal. Het ventilatiekanaal heeft aan alle zijden schoepen.
De stalen dubbele deur in de voorgevel is op een plint geplaatst waarin acht keldergaten. De deur is voorzien van geometrische motieven en wordt aan weerszijden geflankeerd door twee vooruitspringende muurdammen (verlengde zijgevels). Houten constructies op de muurdammen, bestaande uit een ingelaten balk, houten blok en klos, ondersteunen de uitkragende bakgoot. De goot vertoont een knikt bij de zijgevels waar deze lager is geplaatst. Beide zijgevels hebben een kelderlicht met smeedijzeren rooster in de plint. De linker zijgevel heeft bovendien een stalen dubbele deur met geometrische motieven (kleiner en eenvoudiger dan in de voorgevel). Op kniehoogte is in de achtergevel een klein stalen deurtje geplaatst.

Brick TRANSFORMER HOUSE on rectangular ground plan with kinked hipped roof. The facades are laid in half-brick bond. The roof is covered with non-original red rapid-lay tiles and is crowned by a rectangular wooden ventilation duct. The ventilation duct has blades on all sides.
The steel double door in the front facade is placed on a plinth in which are eight cellar openings. The door is furnished with geometric motifs and is flanked on both sides by two projecting wall piers (extended side facades). Wooden constructions on the wall piers, consisting of an inset beam, wooden block and pad, support the overhanging drip gutter. The gutter shows a kink at the side facades where it is placed lower. Both side facades have a cellar light with wrought-iron grille in the plinth. The left side facade furthermore has a steel double door with geometric motifs (smaller and simpler than on the front facade). At knee height a small steel door is placed in the rear facade.
