BEELD van Bentheimer zandsteen, voorstellende Poseidon (god van de zee), gesitueerd in het plantsoen tussen de Jansbinnen- en Jansbuitensingel nabij de aansluiting met de Apeldoornseweg. Het beeld is geplaatst op een zandstenen sokkel op vierkante grondslag. De sokkel bezit een eenvoudig geprofileerd basement en hierboven een zich licht verjongende schacht met aan elke zijde een paneel met spaarveld, dat aan de onder- en bovenzijde afsluit met een schouderboogje. Hierboven bevindt zich een fries met palmetten en een eenvoudig geprofileerde dekplaat.
Poseidon is grotendeels naakt voorgesteld en draagt rond zijn lendenen een sterk geplooid kleed, dat over zijn rechter arm is geslagen en aan de achterzijde neervalt tot aan het voetstuk. Met zijn linker hand houdt hij een tip van het kleed vast. Tussen kleed en benen van Poseidon bevindt zich een grote "Jacobsschelp". Het rechter been fungeert als standbeen en het linker been als speelbeen. Poseidon bezit een lange, in grote slagen weergegeven baard en snor en lang wapperend haar. Op het hoofd draagt hij een kroon. In zijn opgeheven rechter hand houdt hij een (niet oorspronkelijke) lange drietand vast.

STATUE of Bentheimer sandstone, depicting Poseidon (god of the sea), situated in the public garden between the Jansbinnen- and Jansbuitensingel near the junction with the Apeldoornseweg. The statue is placed on a sandstone plinth on a square base. The plinth has a simply profiled basement and above it a shaft tapering slightly upwards, with on each side a panel with a spare field, which closes at the bottom and top with a shoulder arch. Above this is a frieze with palmettes and a simply profiled capping stone.
Poseidon is depicted largely naked and wears a heavily pleated garment around his loins, which is draped over his right arm and falls to the plinth at the rear. With his left hand he holds a tip of the garment. Between the garment and the legs of Poseidon is a large "scallop shell". The right leg serves as the standing leg and the left leg as the free leg. Poseidon has a long beard and moustache depicted in large strokes and long flowing hair. On his head he wears a crown. In his raised right hand he holds a (non-original) long trident.
