Inleiding
Ongeveer 50 meter na de ingang bevindt zich aan de linker zijde van het centrale pad dat naar de calvarieberg leidt de sectie eerste klasse. De graven op dit kavel behoren tot de oudste van de BEGRAAFPLAATS. Belangrijk zijn onder meer de graven van enkele voorname leden van de Osse grootindustriëlenfamilie Jurgens. Verder is het zuidwestelijke gedeelte van het kavel van belang waarop zich de kindergraven van welgestelden bevinden. Op het kavel bevinden zich verder nog circa dertig GRAFMONUMENTEN van uiteenlopende cultuurhistorische en kunsthistorische waarde en kwaliteit en een zeldzame hardstenen grenspaal van de sectie. Het kavel is verder met name van belang wegens de zeer gaaf bewaarde grafschikking en dispositie. Deze is in de periode na 1940 slechts op enkele plaatsen verstoord.
Omschrijving
Het kavel meet circa 25 bij 25 meter maar heeft een verspringende begrenzing aan de noordelijke zijde. Afgezien van de als nummer II, III en IV afzonderlijk te beschermen grafmonumenten zijn nog andere zaken en elementen van groot belang. Aan het centrale pad bevindt zich een kleine hardstenen grenspaal met als opschrift in een centrale uitsparing: BEGRAAFPLAATS 1STE KLAS. Boven een druiplijst wordt de grenspaal bekroond door een boog met florale motieven en een kruis.
Aan de noordoostelijke kant van het kavel bevindt zich een zeldzaam vierdelig graf van de gebrs. en gez. Jansen die alle op hoge leeftijd in het eerste decennium van de twintigste eeuw zijn overleden. De graven zijn vrijwel identiek van vorm met een stèle bekroond met kruis en tombe aan de voet daarvan. De graven zijn omgeven door een ijzeren rondstaaf gedragen door hardstenen kolommen.
Aan de zuidwestelijke kant van het kavel bevindt zich een gedeelte met circa 15 kleine kindergraven. Enkele hiervan zijn zeer bijzonder en hebben gebeeldhouwde engelen in neo-gotische stijl van hoge kunsthistorische kwaliteit.
Waardering
Het complex Eikenboomgaard is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van culturele, sociaal-economische en geestelijke ontwikkelingen. De op het complex Eikenboomgaard gelegen grafmonumenten hebben architectuurhistorisch/kunsthistorisch belang vanwege de hoogwaardige esthetische kwaliteiten en het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. Het complex Eikenboomgaard heeft ensemblewaarde wegens de bijzondere wijze van verkaveling en inrichting en de gaafheid daarvan. Belangrijk aan het te beschermen kavel zijn verder de zeer gaaf bewaarde aanleg en grafschikking die op een enkele verstoring na nog authentiek is. Introduction
Approximately 50 metres after the entrance, on the left side of the central path leading to the calvary hill, is located the first-class section. The graves on this plot belong to the oldest of the CEMETERY. Of particular importance are, among others, the graves of several prominent members of the Oss major industrial family Jurgens. Furthermore, the southwestern part of the plot is significant as it contains the children's graves of the wealthy. On the plot there are also approximately thirty GRAVE MONUMENTS of varying cultural-historical and art-historical value and quality, and a rare sandstone boundary marker of the section. The plot is of particular importance moreover due to its very well-preserved grave arrangement and disposition. This has only been disturbed in a few places in the period after 1940.
Description
The plot measures approximately 25 by 25 metres but has a stepped boundary on the northern side. Apart from the grave monuments to be protected separately as numbers II, III and IV, there are several other matters and elements of great importance. On the central path is situated a small sandstone boundary marker with the inscription in a central indentation: CEMETERY 1ST CLASS. Above a drip moulding, the boundary marker is crowned by an arch with floral motifs and a cross.
On the northeastern side of the plot is situated a rare four-part grave of the brothers and family Jansen, who all died at an advanced age in the first decade of the twentieth century. The graves are virtually identical in form with a stele crowned with a cross and a tomb at its base. The graves are surrounded by an iron rail supported by sandstone columns.
On the southwestern side of the plot is situated a section with approximately 15 small children's graves. Some of these are very special and have carved angels in neo-gothic style of high art-historical quality.
