Inleiding
Op de zuid-westelijke hoek van het Kerkplein te Haren staat een uit 1929 daterend vrijstaand HEILIG HARTBEELD, blijkens een inscriptie uitgevoerd door Van Bokhoven en Jonkers, 's-Hertogenbosch.
Omschrijving
Het kalkstenen Christusbeeld is gesteld op een dito sokkel, waarvan de vierkante plint via gestileerde klauwstukken overgaat in een achthoekige opbouw. Op de dekplaat staat de gebeitelde tekst: "Ik ben koning", op de sokkel de inscriptie: "Laat toekomen mijn rijk" en op de westelijke klauwstukken de tekens voor Alfa en Omega. Op de noordelijke zijde van het voetstuk van het beeld de inscriptie: "Van Bokhoven en Jonkers".
Waardering
Het Heilig Hartbeeld is van algemeen belang het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde daar het getuigt van een geestelijke ontwikkeling. Daarnaast heeft het vanwege de plaats in het werk van respectievelijk de architect en beeldhouwatelier architectuurhistorische waarde. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven en het sluit aan bij de ter plekke reeds eerder beschermde kerkelijke bebouwing.

On the south-western corner of the Kerkplein in Haren stands a free-standing SACRED HEART IMAGE dating from 1929, executed by Van Bokhoven and Jonkers, 's-Hertogenbosch, according to an inscription.
Description
The limestone Christ image is placed on a likewise limestone base, whose square plinth transitions via stylized claw brackets into an octagonal structure. On the top plate stands the chiselled text: "I am king", on the base the inscription: "Let my kingdom come" and on the western claw brackets the signs for Alpha and Omega. On the northern side of the pedestal of the image the inscription: "Van Bokhoven and Jonkers".
Evaluation
The Sacred Heart image is of general importance as it has cultural-historic value in that it testifies to a spiritual development. Furthermore, it has architectural-historic value because of its place in the work of the architect and sculpture studio respectively. It has been preserved in excellent condition and it is in keeping with the ecclesiastical buildings already protected at this location.
