Inleiding
Ten westen van de R.K. kerk van Haren staat aan de zuidelijke zijde van het Kerkplein op nummer 2 de blokvormige voormalige R.K. PASTORIE uit 1877, waarschijnlijk een ontwerp van H.J. van Tulder. Tegen de achtergevel van de pastorie staat een tot de oorspronkelijke bouw behorend koetshuis.
Omschrijving
De tweelaags pastorie heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en een schilddak met verbeterde Hollandse pannen, waarop een smeedijzeren dakruiter met windvaantje. Een klok ontbreekt. De bakstenen gevels zijn voorzien van een hardstenen plint. De voorgevel heeft hoeklisenen en een centraal in de drie vensterassen geplaatste middenrisaliet, waarin zich in een portiek een vleugelpaneeldeur bevindt met geometrisch ingedeeld bovenlicht, gietijzeren roosters en twee gietijzeren buitenlantaarns. In de topgevel is een ijzeren rondlicht. De flankerende zesruits schuifvensters zijn op de begane grond voorzien van luiken. Ook de zijgevels zijn voorzien van zesruiters. In de zuidelijke zijgevel bevindt zich daarnaast een deur met bovenlicht. Tegen de gesloten oostelijke achtergevel is een eenlaags koetshuis met een rechthoekige plattegrond geplaatst, voorzien van een met verbeterde Hollandse pannen belegd schilddak. In de noordelijke gevel is een getoogde opgeklampte inrijpoort. Tegen de zuidelijke gevel van de pastorie groeit een druif. In de tuin verder een tweetal kastanjes van max. 1.75 meter omtrek.
Waardering
De voormalige R.K. pastorie is van algemeen belang en heeft cultuurhistorische waarde daar het getuigt van een geestelijke ontwikkeling. Het is gaaf bewaard gebeleven en sluit aan bij de ter plekke reeds eerder beschermde kerkelijke bebouwing.

To the west of the R.C. church of Haren stands on the southern side of the Kerkplein at number 2 the blocky former R.C. PARSONAGE from 1877, probably a design by H.J. van Tulder. Against the rear facade of the parsonage stands a coach house belonging to the original construction.
Description
The two-storey parsonage has a rectangular floor plan and a hipped roof with improved Dutch tiles, on which stands a wrought-iron roof lantern with weather vane. A bell is absent. The brick facades are provided with a sandstone plinth. The front facade has corner pilasters and a centrally placed centre risalit in the three window bays, in which is situated a wing-panelled door in a portico with geometrically divided fanlight, cast-iron grilles and two cast-iron exterior lanterns. In the gable is an iron circular light. The flanking six-light sash windows are fitted with shutters on the ground floor. The side facades are also fitted with six-light windows. In the southern side facade there is furthermore a door with fanlight. Against the closed eastern rear facade is placed a single-storey coach house with a rectangular floor plan, provided with a hipped roof covered with improved Dutch tiles. In the northern facade is an arched clamped carriage entrance. Against the southern facade of the parsonage grows a vine. In the garden further two chestnuts of a maximum circumference of 1.75 metres.
Evaluation
The former R.C. parsonage is of general importance and has cultural-historic value as it testifies to a spiritual development. It has been preserved in excellent condition and is in keeping with the ecclesiastical buildings already protected at this location.
