Inleiding
HEK behorende bij de reeds beschermde Nederlands Hervormde kerk (apart monumentnummer 39421) te Parrega. Het gietijzeren hek verschaft toegang tot de kerk en de bijbehorende begraafplaats. Het terrein is verder omgeven door een heg.
Omschrijving
Het hek bestaat uit twee gebogen vleugels tussen opengewerkte gietijzeren pijlers op een hardstenen basement. In de pijlers doodssymbolen. Van onder naar boven: gekruiste gedoofde toortsen, gekruiste zeisen, een gevleugelde zandloper en een doodshoofd met gekruiste beenderen.
In de vleugels, met verticale spijlen met puntvormige bekroning, het opschrift 'gedenkt te sterven'. De naald wordt aan de bovenzijde geflankeerd door ijzeren krullen en bekroond door een punt.
