De mitrailleurKAZEMAT XII uit 1933 is gelegen in de achterhoede van de tweede linie en heeft een afmeting van 11,0 x 16,8 m. Het trechtervormige, getrapte en van een vertanding met spoorstaven voorziene schietgat is gericht op het noordwesten. Hierdoor heeft de kazemat een afgeschuinde hoek, met als gevolg dat rondom het schietgat de betondikte van de wand groter is. De keelzijde met twee ingangen en twee buitentoiletten is gelegen aan de westzijde. De kazemat is aan de oost-, noord- en noord-westzijde aangeaard, waardoor het schietgat niet meer vrij is. Van de camouflage-beschildering is weinig overgebleven.
INTERIEUR: de kazemat bevat een mitrailleurkamer, een observatiepost, een manschappenverblijf en twee binnentoiletten. De pantserstalen binnendeuren zijn nog aanwezig.
Tijdens de Duitse invasie van mei 1940 heeft een zware vliegtuigbom Kazemat XII geraakt. De randdekking aan de keelzijde is hierdoor van de kazemat gesprongen. De reparatie van de schil is duidelijk zichtbaar. De kazemat is tegenwoordig volledig dichtgemetseld.

Kazemat XII uit de Stelling van Kornwerderzand is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch, krijgshistorisch en architectuurhistorisch belang:

Description
The machine-gun CASEMATE XII from 1933 is located in the rear of the second line and measures 11.0 x 16.8 m. The funnel-shaped, stepped firing aperture provided with a toothing with track bars is directed towards the northwest. As a result, the casemate has a bevelled corner, with the consequence that around the firing aperture the concrete thickness of the wall is greater. The gorge side with two entrances and two external toilets is located on the west side. The casemate is earthed on the east, north and north-west sides, as a result of which the firing aperture is no longer free. Little remains of the camouflage paintwork.
INTERIOR: the casemate contains a machine-gun chamber, an observation post, an enlisted men's quarters and two internal toilets. The armoured steel interior doors are still present.
During the German invasion of May 1940, a heavy aircraft bomb hit Casemate XII. The edge covering on the gorge side was blown off the casemate as a result. The repair of the shell is clearly visible. The casemate is nowadays completely bricked up.
Valuation
Casemate XII from the Kornwerderzand Fortification is of general cultural-historical, military-historical and architectural-historical importance:
- as a particular expression of a technical and typological development;
