De MitrailleurKAZEMAT I uit 1933 bevindt zich op het uiteinde van de noord-oostelijke havendam en heeft een afmeting van 21,15 x 16,40 m. Rondom de kazemat is een zware borstwering aangebracht met hierin drie mitrailleurnesten voorzien van afsluitbare munitie-nissen voor de mitrailleur in open opstelling. Aan de noordzijde is de borstwering extra verzwaard en bij het schietgat is deze onderbroken. De kazemat is aan de onderzijde voorzien van beschermingsmuren om het doordringen van projectielen onder de vloerplaat te voorkomen. Gezien de ligging van de kazemat was het aanbrengen van een rabat niet mogelijk.
Het trechtervormige, getrapte en van spoorstaven voorziene schietgat is gericht op de buitenhaven, de havenmond en het gebied voor de brug. Het schietgat is tegenwoordig dichtgemetseld. De toegang tot de kazemat bevindt zich aan de westzijde en is eveneens dichtgemetseld. Aan de noordzijde is een stalen lader naar het dak. Het dak is voorzien van mastiek en langs de rand steken stalen stekeinden uit het beton ten behoeve van camouflagenetten; langs de borstwering loopt een metalen reling. De kazemat heeft een camouflage-beschildering van groene gele en witte vlakken met dikke zwarte contourlijnen.
INTERIEUR: de kazemat bevat een mitrailleurkamer en een manschappenvertrek.

Description
The Machine Gun CASEMATE I from 1933 is located at the end of the north-eastern harbour dam and has dimensions of 21.15 x 16.40 m. Around the casemate a heavy breastwork has been constructed with three machine gun nests provided with closable ammunition niches for the machine gun in open position. On the north side the breastwork is additionally reinforced and at the firing aperture it is interrupted. The casemate is provided on the underside with protective walls to prevent projectiles penetrating beneath the floor slab. Given the location of the casemate, the installation of a counterscarp was not possible.
The funnel-shaped, stepped firing aperture fitted with rail bars is directed at the outer harbour, the harbour mouth and the area in front of the bridge. The firing aperture is currently bricked up. Access to the casemate is on the west side and is also bricked up. On the north side is a steel ladder to the roof. The roof is covered with mastic and along the edge steel stay-ends project from the concrete for camouflage netting; along the breastwork runs a metal railing. The casemate has camouflage painting in green, yellow and white areas with thick black outline lines.
INTERIOR: the casemate contains a machine gun chamber and a men's quarters.
