Inleiding
TUINPAVILJOEN, in 1916 naar ontwerp van W.C. de Groot in de cottage-stijl gebouwd in de tuin van het als monument geregistreerde Nieuw Sint Anthony-gasthuis, monumentennummer 24160.
Het in 1862/'64 gebouwde nieuwe gasthuis van Sint Anthoon is met zijn tuin tussen en voor de vleugels op het zuiden gericht naar het in dezelfde periode gedempte gebied van het Perkswaltje. Op de hoek van de Wijde Gasthuissteeg en het Perkwaltje zijn in 1916 twee kleine woningen afgebroken, waarna de ruimte aan de tuin is toegevoegd. In hetzelfde jaar is daar een tuinpaviljoen voor de zogenoemde gangbewoners, de arme bewoners van de kleine kamers in de lage vleugels, neergezet. Nadat in 1927 veel oostelijker een tweede tuinpaviljoen voor de proveniers, de rijkere bewoners van de kopwoningen, is gebouwd werd het tuinpaviljoen uit 1916 de groene en die uit 1927 de bruine koepel genoemd. Beide paviljoens zijn op het oosten gebouwd en daarmee kenmerkend voor de periode voor de zoncultuur die in de jaren dertig opkwam.
Omschrijving
EXTERIEUR: Tuinpaviljoen, gebouwd op een ondiepe en brede rechthoekige grondslag met een van grauwbruine baksteen gemetselde borstwering en opgaande wanden van horizontale, de voorgeveltop met vertikale, donkergroen geschilderde delen. Ondiep zadeldak tussen topgevels, met riet gedekt en voorzien van grote vorstpannen. De achterzijde en zijkanten geheel gesloten. Aan de voorzijde vijfledig geopend tussen vierkante houten kolommen met groefjes bij wijze van basementen en kapitelen; de middelste opening rondbogig, de flankerende openingen rechthoekig en de uiterste smalle openingen met achtruitsvensters gedicht. Voor het bouwwerk een vleugelvormige pergola bestaand uit gemetselde borstweringen en kolommen als van het paviljoen zelve en liggers. Tegen de geveltop een rolwerkornament met het beeldmerk van het gasthuis, de bel en het bouwjaar 1916.
INTERIEUR: Inwendig in oorspronkelijke staat met houten vloer en zonder ingebouwd meubilair of bijzondere afwerking.

Tuinpaviljoen van algemeen cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch belang

GARDEN PAVILION, built in 1916 according to a design by W.C. de Groot in the cottage style in the garden of the Nieuw Sint Anthony hospital registered as a monument, monument number 24160.
The new hospital of Sint Anthoon, built in 1862/'64, is situated with its garden between and in front of the wings, facing south towards the area of the Perkswaltje which was filled in during the same period. In 1916, two small dwellings on the corner of the Wijde Gasthuissteeg and the Perkwaltje were demolished, after which the space was added to the garden. Description
EXTERIOR: Garden pavilion, built on a shallow and broad rectangular ground plan with a parapet wall of greyish-brown brick and rising walls of horizontal parts, the gable top with vertical parts, painted dark green. Shallow gabled roof between gable ends, thatched with reed and fitted with large frost tiles. The rear and sides entirely closed. The front side openings in five sections between square wooden columns with grooves in the manner of bases and capitals; the middle opening round-arched, the flanking openings rectangular and the outermost narrow openings filled with casement windows. In front of the building a wing-shaped pergola consisting of brick parapet walls and columns of the pavilion itself and beams. Against the gable top a scroll ornament with the emblem of the hospital, the bell and the construction year 1916.
INTERIOR: Internally in original condition with wooden floor and without fitted furniture or special finishes.
