De KANTINE (schaftlokaal 1950, stijl verwant aan Functionalisme) op rechthoekige plattegrond is opgetrokken in een gewapend betonskelet. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen op een trasraam van donkere gesinterde baksteen en worden gedekt door een licht hellend overkragend zadeldak waarop golfplaat in de vorm van dakpannen; niet-originele windveren; niet-originele gootlijst; goot op betonnen klossen. De gevels worden geleed door de stijlen van het betonskelet waartussen meerdelige liggende vensterpartijen.
De entree in portiek bevindt zich in de voorgevel (oostzijde) en bestaat uit een niet-originele deur met drieruits zijlichten en tweeruits bovenlicht waarvoor een gemetselde stoep. Het portiek wordt gevormd door het dak dat is doorgetrokken onder de gootlijst en wordt gedragen door betonnen wanden waarin ronde openingen zijn aangebracht. Aan de linkerzijde van de entree drie zesdelige vensters. Aan de rechterzijde van de entree een vijfdelig venster.
De zuidgevel is deels beschoten (oorspronkelijk meerdelig venster).
In de achtergevel (westzijde) een liggend vijf- en driedelig venster.
Waardering
Kantine van algemeen belang vanwege architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde:
- als voorbeeld van een kantine uit 1950 in de provincie Groningen

Description
The CANTEEN (break room 1950, style related to Functionalism) on a rectangular plan is constructed in a reinforced concrete skeleton. The facades are constructed in red brick on a tuff frame of dark sintered brick and are covered by a slightly sloping overhanging gabled roof with corrugated sheeting in the form of roof tiles; non-original wind braces; non-original gutter line; gutter on concrete blocks. The facades are articulated by the columns of the concrete skeleton between which multi-part horizontal window arrangements are placed.
The entrance in portico is located in the front facade (east side) and consists of a non-original door with three-pane sidelights and two-pane fanlight in front of which stands a moulded step. The portico is formed by the roof which extends under the gutter line and is supported by concrete walls in which round openings are placed. On the left side of the entrance three six-part windows. On the right side of the entrance a five-part window.
The south facade is partly boarded (originally multi-part window).
In the rear facade (west side) a horizontal five- and three-part window.

Canteen of general importance due to architectural and cultural-historical value:
