Omschrijving
De toegang tot de begraafplaats wordt gevormd door een smeedijzeren HEK met zilver gekleurde decoraties van gietijzer vervaardigd door firma L.J. Enthoven en Co te Den Haag en de Alphense smid Velthuijsen. Het hek bestaat uit twee draaibare vleugels met spijlen, waarvan de lange spijlen zijn bekroond door gestileerde leliemotieven (spijlpunten) en de korte door vlammetjes. De bovenrand van de hekken is concaaf gevormd.
De hekken zijn bevestigd tussen twee ijzeren pijlers met ornamenten. In de opengewerkte pijlers zijn gietijzeren ornamenten met een symbolische betekenis aangebracht: gekruiste fakkels met de vlam naar beneden (symbool van het gedoofde leven en wederopstanding), een slang die in zijn eigen staart bijt (oneindigheid), gekruiste zeisen (attribuut van de dood als grote maaier), een gevleugelde zandloper (vergankelijkheid) en bovenop de pijlers een doodshoofd op gekruiste beenderen (ijdelheid, kortstondigheid van het leven). Aan weerszijden van de hekpijlers staat een vast spijlenhek, net als de pijlers staande op een gemetselde voet, die de ruimte tussen het lijkenhuisje enerzijds en het baarhuisje anderzijds afsluit.

Description
Access to the cemetery is formed by a wrought-iron GATE with silver-coloured cast-iron decorations made by the firm L.J. Enthoven and Co in The Hague and the Alphen smith Velthuijsen. The gate consists of two rotating wings with bars, of which the long bars are crowned by stylized lily motifs (bar points) and the short ones by small flames. The top edge of the gates is concavely shaped.
The gates are attached between two iron pillars with ornaments. In the open-work pillars cast-iron ornaments with symbolic meaning have been placed: crossed torches with the flame pointing downwards (symbol of extinguished life and resurrection), a serpent biting its own tail (infinity), crossed scythes (attribute of death as the great reaper), a winged hourglass (transience) and on top of the pillars a skull and crossed bones (vanity, brevity of life). On either side of the gate pillars stands a fixed bar gate, like the pillars standing on a built-up base, which closes off the space between the mortuary chapel on the one hand and the dead-house on the other.
