Inleiding
In 1929 naar ontwerp van prof.ir. M.J. Grandpré-Molière in de stijl van de Delftse School gebouwd blok met DIENSTWONINGEN bij het electrogemaal Lely. De dienstwoningen staan haaks op de Wieringermeerdijk op enige afstand ten noordwesten van het gemaal.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebouwd blok van vier dienstwoningen bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder een hoog opgaand overstekend zadeldak waarvan de noklijn evenwijdig loopt aan de voor- en achtergevel. Het dak heeft een hogere dakvoet aan de achterzijde. De hoekwoning aan de westzijde is breder en hoger dan de drie andere woningen en heeft een hogere nok en dakvoet. De woningen zijn vergelijkbaar opgezet. Elke woning heeft aan de voorzijde een deur, een meerdelig venster (oorspronkelijk zesdelig) en een lage brede dakkapel in het dakschild. Het dak wordt op zes punten doorsneden door rookkanalen, respectievelijk op de beide hoeken en ter hoogte van de woningscheidende muren. Het zadeldak wordt gedekt door rode Hollandse pannen, de gemetselde muren zijn gewit.
Waardering
De dienstwoningen zijn van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het gemaalcomplex Lely.

In 1929 to the design of prof.ir. M.J. Grandpré-Molière in the style of the Delft School, a block with SERVICE DWELLINGS was built next to the electric pumping station Lely. The service dwellings are positioned at right angles to the Wieringermeerdijk at some distance to the north-west of the pumping station.
Description
A block of four service dwellings built on a rectangular ground plan, consisting of one storey under a tall projecting gabled roof whose ridge line runs parallel to the front and rear facades. The roof has a higher roof edge on the rear side. The corner dwelling on the west side is broader and taller than the three other dwellings and has a higher ridge and roof edge. The dwellings are comparably arranged. Each dwelling has on the front side a door, a multi-part window (originally six-part) and a low broad dormer in the roof slope. The roof is intersected at six points by chimney stacks, respectively at both corners and at the height of the dividing walls between dwellings. The gabled roof is covered with red Dutch tiles, the plastered masonry walls are whitewashed.
Valuation
The service dwellings are of general importance for their cultural and architectural-historical value as a historically-functional component of the Lely pumping station complex.
