Inleiding
STUW van het type GLIJSCHUIF uit 1925 gelegen bij de Kapperallee in de Berkel op de grens van de gemeente Warnsveld met de gemeente Gorssel. De waterstand wordt geregeld door de boven elkaar geplaatste balken, die naar onderen in hoogte toenemen. De balken zijn zodanig verbonden dat de balken één voor één omhoog worden getrokken. De onderste balk komt daarbij pas omhoog als de bovenste al een eind gehesen is.
Omschrijving
De SCHUIFSTUW bestaat uit twee wit/zwart geschilderde gepleisterde landhoofden met twee tussenpijlers waarop een stalen, vaste loopbrug met houten planken rust. Tussen de rechthoekige landhoofden en pijlers waarvan de hoeken aan één zijde zijn afgerond, bevinden zich twee glijschuiven bestaande uit houten balken. De houten balken, aangebracht in de sponningen van de pijlers en landhoofden, worden omhoog gehesen door een stalen hijsconstructie. De hijsconstructie is een portaal, bestaande uit drie jukken, elk samengesteld uit een raamwerk in de vorm van een driehoek. De jukken worden aan de bovenzijde verbonden door een horizontale geklonken, samengestelde kokerligger. Boven de ligger bevinden zich uiterst rechts en links en aan weerszijden van het middenjuk katrollen waarover staaldraad loopt. Iedere schuif is met staaldraad, via twee katrollen verbonden met een smeedijzeren kaapstander.
