HISTORISCHE TUIN- EN PARKAANLEG behorende tot de voormalige buitenplaats Meer en Bos. De in structuur gaaf bewaarde 17de/18de-eeuwse formele aanleg met hoofdas en sterrenbos is gevat in een rechthoekige grachten- en wallenstructuur met aan de noordzijde het Segmeer en aan de zuidzijde een halfronde beëindiging. De wal loopt langs de oost en zuidzijde; langs de buitenrand aan de westzijde loopt een oude verbindingslaan (kaart Cruqius 1712). Binnen deze structuur ligt centraal een rond-point met waterkom; vanaf de kom lopen vier lanen (kruisvormig) waarvan thans alleen het tracé resteert (geen laanbeplanting) en één diagonale beukenlaan; in de vakken slingerlanen, waaronder een pad in vorm van een krakeling en een tweede diagonale beukenlaan. Rond de formele kern ligt deels geaccidenteerd parkbos met een landschappelijk padenpatroon, dat grotendeels in de 19de eeuw tot stand is gekomen. Grenzend aan de noordzijde van het meer ligt een rechthoekig door grachten/sloten omgeven perceel (ook op kaart Cruqius 1712), op deze laatste plaats stond vermoedelijk het oude buitenhuis in de as van de aanleg. In de 19de eeuw zijn de waterlopen vergraven, werd reliëf aangebracht en een eilandje in het meer aangelegd (Minuutplan 1818). In de Tweede Wereldoorlog is in dit noordelijke deel een tankgracht gegraven en alle beplanting verwijderd; deels nieuwe beplanting, deels sportvelden deze laatst vallen buiten de omgrenzing van de buitenplaats.

HISTORIC GARDEN AND PARK LAYOUT belonging to the former country estate Meer en Bos. The structurally well-preserved 17th/18th-century formal layout with main axis and star wood is set within a rectangular ditch and rampart structure with the Segmeer on the north side and a semi-circular termination on the south side. The rampart runs along the east and south sides; along the outer edge on the west side runs an old connecting lane (Cruqius map 1712). Within this structure lies centrally a round-point with a water basin; from the basin run four lanes (in cross formation) of which only the line now remains (no tree planting) and one diagonal beech lane; in the compartments winding lanes, including a path in the form of a pretzel and a second diagonal beech lane. Around the formal core lies partly undulating park woodland with a landscaped path pattern, largely created in the 19th century. Bordering the north side of the mere lies a rectangular plot surrounded by ditches/watercourses (also on Cruqius map 1712), at this latter location presumably stood the old country house on the axis of the layout. In the 19th century the watercourses were enlarged, relief was added and a small island was created in the mere (Minute plan 1818). In the Second World War a tank ditch was dug in this northern part and all planting removed; partly new planting, partly sports fields these latter fall outside the boundary of the country estate.
