Omschrijving
KAPEL behorende tot de buitenplaats Oud-Poelgeest. Aan de Haarlemse trekvaart staat een 19de-eeuwse kapel in neogotische stijl, thans in gebruik als woning. Het op rechthoekige grondslag opgetrokken bakstenen pand bestaat uit één bouwlaag afgesloten door een omlopende daklijst en onder een flauw hellend zadeldak; op de kopse zijde een toren met drie afgeschuinde hoeken op de begane grond en een zeszijdige bovenbouw, die boven de daklijst uitsteekt met schietgaten en beëindigd door kantelen. In de gevels houten spitsboogvensters met in het bovenlicht drie- en vierpas tracering; strekken van gele ijsselsteentjes.

Description
CHAPEL belonging to the country estate Oud-Poelgeest. On the Haarlemse trekvaart stands a 19th-century chapel in neo-Gothic style, currently in use as a dwelling. The building erected on a rectangular ground plan consists of one storey closed off by a continuous cornice and under a shallow-pitched gabled roof; on the gable side a tower with three chamfered corners on the ground floor and a six-sided upper section, which projects above the cornice with gun ports and terminated by crenellations. In the facades wooden pointed-arch windows with in the fanlight three- and four-foil tracery; strips of yellow Ijssel brick.
