PARKAANLEG, XIX, bestaande uit twee vrijwel zelfstandige delen, elk met centrale vijver: het achterste gedeelte, waarvan de boszoom met slingerpad waarschijnlijk het oudste element in landschapsstijl is, terwijl het binnenterrein bestaat uit een weide (nu hertenpark) met een slingervijver van recente datum (XXb-c); en het gedeelte direct achter en rondom het huis, dat de bekende tuinarchitect Lucas Pieter Roodbaard omstreeks 1827 aanlegde zonder het achterpark te integreren; hoewel nogal gewijzigd, vertoont de Roodbaard-aanleg nog de kleinschaligheid en intieme sfeer die kenmerkend is voor parken van zijn hand; de slingervijver met uitlopers is ontstaan uit de 17e-eeuwse rechthoekige gracht rond het huis; langs de brede grasoevers lopen paden; er zijn twee heuveltjes: in de zuidwestelijke binnenhoek van de waterpartij en achter de noordwestelijke uitloper; in de noordoosthoek van het voorpark zijn nog restanten van slingerlanen met zeer oude eiken, zo ook in de rondwandeling van het achterpark. Het smalle weiland tussen het achterpark en de provinciale weg is als buffer opgenomen in het complex; naast de oude eiken zijn er nog enkele andere solitairen, met name rond het huis; er is geen moestuin (meer).
Waardering
De PARKAANLEG is van algemeen belang:
- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege de landschappelijk-visuele waarden;
- als één der weinige overgebleven parken van L.P. Roodbaard in Groningen.

PARK LAYOUT, 19th century, consisting of two virtually independent parts, each with central pond: the rear section, of which the woodland edge with winding path is probably the oldest element in landscape style, while the inner terrain consists of a meadow (now deer park) with a winding pond of recent date (late 20th century); and the section directly behind and around the house, which the well-known garden architect Lucas Pieter Roodbaard laid out around 1827 without integrating the rear park; although rather altered, the Roodbaard layout still shows the small-scale and intimate atmosphere characteristic of parks of his hand; the winding pond with offshoots arose from the 17th-century rectangular moat round the house; along the broad grass banks run paths; there are two small hills: in the south-western inner corner of the water feature and behind the north-western offshoot; in the north-eastern corner of the front park are still remnants of winding lanes with very old oaks, likewise in the circular walk of the rear park. The narrow meadow between the rear park and the provincial road is included as a buffer in the complex; besides the old oaks there are several other solitary trees, notably around the house; there is no kitchen garden (any more).
