Omschrijving onderdeel 18.
Op de zuidparterre staan twee achttiende-eeuwse TUINBEELDEN van mannenfiguren; aan de westzijde een beeld van een bebaarde mannenfiguur met zandloper in zijn hand (Vanitas) leunend tegen een boomstronk en aan de oostzijde een jonge mannenfiguur met een kompas leunend tegen een boomstronk. De beelden staan op rechthoekige, met festoenen versierde natuurstenen sokkels (identiek aan onderdeel nummer 17). Waarschijnlijk zijn de beelden ten tijde van de wijzigingen in de tuinaanleg door Poortman aangekocht en op deze plaats neergezet.

Description of component 18.
On the south parterre stand two eighteenth-century GARDEN STATUES of male figures; on the west side a statue of a bearded male figure with an hourglass in his hand (Vanitas) leaning against a tree stump and on the east side a young male figure with a compass leaning against a tree stump. The statues stand on rectangular, festoon-decorated natural stone bases (identical to component number 17). The statues were probably purchased at the time of the modifications to the garden layout by Poortman and placed in this location.
