Omschrijving onderdeel 8: TUINMANSWONING.
De vóór 1876 door de Leeuwarder architect J.I. Douma ontworpen tuinmanswoning ten oosten van Klein Jagtlust bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een met pannen gedekt zadeldak. De drie traveeën brede voorgevel is gepleisterd en uitgevoerd met een voor Douma kenmerkende decoratie met hoeklisenen en een klimmend boogfries langs de dakrand. Het zolderraam is uitgevoerd als een gekoppeld rondboogvenster. De overstekende dakrand is versierd met een makelaar en ajour snijwerk in de top. De eenvoudige, gepleisterde achter- en zijgevels hebben een onregelmatige vensterindeling.

De TUINMANSWONING is van belang:

Description
Description component 8: GARDENER'S HOUSE.
The gardener's house designed before 1876 by the Leeuwarden architect J.I. Douma to the east of Klein Jagtlust consists of one storey under a gabled roof covered with tiles. The front facade three bays wide is plastered and executed with decoration characteristic of Douma featuring corner pilasters and a climbing arch frieze along the roof edge. The attic window is executed as a coupled round-arch window. The overhanging roof edge is decorated with a moulding and fretwork carving at the apex. The simple plastered rear and side facades have an irregular window arrangement.
Valuation
The GARDENER'S HOUSE is of importance:
- because of its age;
- because of its functional and ornamental value for the country estate;
- because of its careful architectural design;
- as a reasonably well-preserved example of a gardener's house in the oeuvre of the Leeuwarden architect J.I. Douma.
