BRUGWACHTERSHUISJE, onderdeel van het complex Spanjaardsbrug, daterend uit 1933.
Omschrijving
Het brugwachtershuisje is opgetrokken in gele baksteen, onder een geknikt koperen schilddak. In de gevels ijzeren roedenvensters en een houten deur boven een granieten trap van drie treden. Het brugwachtershuisje maakt deel uit van een kademuur van het Leidse landhoofd van de Spanjaardsgbrug. Bij het brugwachtershuisje een terras aan het water, toegankelijk via een trap aan de westkant. Het bouwjaar en de naam van de brug zijn in keramiek in de gevels van het brugwachtershuisje aangebracht. Verder zijn de gevels afgewerkt met geruwde granieten dekstenen, sierstenen en schampstenen.
Waardering
Brugwachtershuis van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als relatief gaaf bewaard en functioneel onderdeel van het complex Spanjaardsbrug. Tevens van situationeel belang vanwege de beeldbepalende ligging.

Description
The bridgekeeper's house is built in yellow brick, under a bent copper hipped roof. In the facades iron rod windows and a wooden door above a granite staircase of three steps. The bridgekeeper's house forms part of a quay wall of the Leiden abutment of the Spanjaardsbrug. Adjacent to the bridgekeeper's house a terrace at the water, accessible via a staircase on the west side. The construction year and the name of the bridge are incorporated in ceramic in the facades of the bridgekeeper's house. Further, the facades are finished with roughened granite coping stones, decorative stones and ashlar stones.
Valuation
Bridgekeeper's house of general importance because of cultural and architectural-historical value as a relatively well-preserved and functional component of the Spanjaardsbrug complex. Also of situational importance because of its distinctive location.
