Inleiding
Reeks van acht hofjeswoningen, deeluitmakend van het complex van de Groeneveldstichting, gesitueerd in de vroegere predikantentuin en in oorsprong bestemd voor predikantsweduwen of bejaarde predikantsdochters. de langgerekte reeks is uitgevoerd in sobere eclectische trant.
Omschrijving
Hofje met een rij van acht woningen met verdieping onder een met verbeterde hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak. de zestien traveeën tellende voorgevel opgetrokken in baksteen en verlevendigd met accenten van kalkzandsteen. Gelijkmatige gevelindeling met rechtgesloten gevelopeningen met op de begane grond beurtelings een T- venster links of rechts van de gepaard geplaatste paneeldeuren met geprofileerd kalf en bovenlicht. Alle rechte gevelopeningen op de begane grond onder strekse bogen met sluit- en aanzetstukken van kalkzandsteen. De onderdorpels van de minder hoge verdiepingingvensters zijn onderaan met elkaar verbonden door een als cordonlijst functionerende rand van uitgemetselde kalkzandsteen. De afwisselend bredere en smallere verdiepingvensters steken licht in de wit geschilderde, gepleisterde kroonlijst met geprofileerde onderrand en eveneens geprofileerde gootlijst. De woning met huisnummer 5 bevat inwendig nog de meeste oorspronkelijke onderdelen, zoals in de gang vier paneeldeuren en een met natuursteen bedekte vloer. Woonkamer met marmeren schouw, een kleine achterkamer met roedenverdeling in hoog venster.

Almshouse with a row of eight dwellings with an upper storey under a gabled roof covered with improved Dutch tiles. The front facade comprising sixteen bays is constructed in brick and enlivened with accents of calcium silicate brick. Uniform facade division with straight-sided facade openings with on the ground floor alternately a T-window to the left or right of paired panel doors with profiled calf and fanlight. All straight facade openings on the ground floor under relieving arches with relieving and springer stones of calcium silicate brick. The sills of the lower upper storey windows are connected at the bottom to each other by a drip moulding functioning as a cordon line made of laid calcium silicate brick. The alternately wider and narrower upper storey windows project slightly into the white-painted, plastered cornice with profiled lower edge and likewise profiled gutter moulding. The dwelling numbered 5 contains internally still the most original components, such as four panel doors in the corridor and a floor covered with natural stone. Living room with marble fireplace, a small back room with glazing bars in a tall window.

The series is furthermore of importance on account of ensemble value because of the historic-functional relationship with the former minister's residence providing access and the associated garden.
