Omschrijving
HEKPIJLERS uit 1858 van de buitenplaats 'Sandwijck', geplaatst aan het begin van de oprijlaan. De hardstenen pijlers hebben een vlakke plintzone, waarboven een gebiljoeneerde middenzone met verdiept liggen velden, vormgegeven conform de velden in plint van de erker in de portierswoning. De middenzone wordt door middel van een geprofileerde lijst afgesloten. Hierboven een fries met de naam van de buitenplaats (links 'SAND', rechts 'WIJCK'). Hierboven kraagt de pijler uit met een kroonlijst waarin gestileerde bloemen zijn uitgehouwen. Tussen de pijlers is een dubbel smeedijzeren spijlenhek gezet.
Waardering

Description
GATE PIERS from 1858 of the country estate 'Sandwijck', placed at the beginning of the drive. The ashlar piers have a flat plinth zone, above which a billeted central zone with recessed fields, designed in conformity with the fields in the plinth of the bay in the gatekeeper's house. The central zone is closed off by means of a moulded band. Above this a frieze with the name of the country estate (left 'SAND', right 'WIJCK'). Above this the pier projects out with a cornice in which stylised flowers are carved. Between the piers is a double wrought-iron spile gate set.
Valuation
The gate piers of the country estate 'Sandwijck' are of general importance for their architectural-historical value as an example of well-detailed ashlar gate piers from the mid-nineteenth century, as well as for their ensemble value as part of the country estate.
