Het ten westen van het Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal gelegen FORT BIJ NIGTEVECHT bestaat uit een omgracht aardwerk uit 1883-1993 met een frontwal aan de oostzijde en betonnen bomvrije gebouwen, daterend uit 1903, opgetrokken uit ongewapend beton met steenslag. De ontsluiting van het fort is aan de westzijde. Het hoofdgebouw heeft een naar het oosten vooruitgeplaatst middendeel, het mitrailleurgebouw, en twee kazematten aan de keelzijde. Aan de frontzijde is aan de noord- en zuidzijde op de frontwal een hefkoepelgebouw gezet, dat los staat van het hoofdgebouw.
Het hoofdgebouw is aan drie zijden aangeaard en voorzien van een bitumen dakbedekking. Aan de oost- of frontzijde is het mitrailleurgebouw als een vooruitgeschoven bouwdeel gezet. In het midden bevindt zich op het dak een uitkijkpost. De westgevel aan de keelzijde is uitgevoerd in beton en bevat een aantal dubbele stalen deuren met getoogde bovenzijde en dezelfde vensters ter weerszijde. Aan de noord- en zuidzijde springt de gevel naar voren ten behoeve van een keelkazemat. Daarnaast is een aflopende vleugelmuur gezet.
De vertrekken in het fort zijn gewelfd en voorzien van groengeschilderde vensters en deuren. Achter de hoofdentree leidt een smal vertrek met deuren aan weerszijde naar een poterne, die de verbinding vormt met het frontgebouw. De doorgang is voorzien van dubbele deuren met een rondboogvormig bovenlicht. In de zijvertrekken van de hoofdingang waren manschappen ondergebracht, alsmede de keuken, kruitkamers en privaten. In het linkerdeel van het gebouw bevinden zich nog een waterpomp en overblijfselen van deze privaten. De linker keelkazemat bevat de opstelplaatsen voor het geschut. Het rechterdeel is deels dichtgezet en ontoegankelijk.
Het noordelijke hefkoepelgebouw is dichtgestort.
Het zuidelijke hefkoepelgebouw toont de staalconstructie en bevat een deel van een gradenboog ten behoeve van het richten van het geschut.

The FORT AT NIGTEVECHT, located west of the Amsterdam-Rijn Canal, consists of a moated earthwork from 1883-1993 with a front wall on the east side and concrete bomb-proof buildings, dating from 1903, constructed of unreinforced concrete with gravel. The fort is accessed from the west side. The main building has a centre section projecting towards the east, the machine-gun building, and two casemates on the gorge side. On the front side, a rotunda building has been placed on the front wall on the north and south sides, standing separately from the main building.
The main building is banked up on three sides and provided with bitumen roof covering. On the east or front side, the machine-gun building is positioned as a projecting structural component.
