Inleiding
VILLA ('DE OORSPRONG'), een in 1879 in eclectische stijl verbouwde villa uit 1823, oorspronkelijk gebouwd voor de cementfabrikant Cazius met bijbehorende grote tuin, restant van een buitenplaats naar ontwerp van Hendrik van Lunteren. Het geheel omgeven door hekwerk met op de dubbele ingangsdraaihek de naam van de villa.
Omschrijving
Villa, georiënteerd op middeleeuwse verkavelingsrichting en daardoor enigszins schuin gelegen ten op zichte van de Biltstraat, met een min of meer rechthoekige plattegrond, souterrain en twee bouwlagen onder een samengestelde kap, gedekt met leien. Aan de Biltstraatzijde een zeven traveeën breed bouwdeel, links daarvan twee traveeën breed bouwdeel, waarvan één travee opgetrokken is tot toren met tentdak. Gevel aan de Oorsprongparkzijde zeven traveeën breed, met terugliggend bouwdeel van drie traveeën waarin de ingang gelegen is. Alle gevels zijn gepleisterd boven een hardstenen basement, waarin de kelderlichten opgenomen zijn.
Het zeven traveeën brede bouwdeel aan de Biltstraat heeft een over de gehele gevelhoogte driezijdig uitgebouwd middendeel van drie traveeën, met op de eerste en tweede bouwlaag twee sierlijke ijzeren balkons met slanke zuiltjes en het balkon op de tweede bouwlaag met een overhuiving. In de risalerende kap boven dit uitgebouwde geveldeel een dakkapel met rond fronton en hekwerk met balusters aan weerszijden.
In de gevel aan de Biltstraatzijde zijn diverse houten schuifvensters met gepleisterde neo-klassieke omlijsting, onder meer diverse soorten drielichtvensters in het risalerende torenelement, de omlijstingen ondermeer in de vorm van tympanen, geprofileerde lijsten, opgelegde velden en palmetten. De vensters op de eerste bouwlaag hebben alle hardstenen onderdorpels op bewerkte consoles. Tussen de bouwlagen geprofileerde lijsten. De gevel wordt beëindigd met een geprofileerde lijst met consoles. In het dakschild dakramen in de vorm van oeil-de-boeuf, ter hoogte van het torenelement nog vier dakkapellen, de afgeplatte spits wordt bekroond met siersmeedwerk.
Zuidwestgevel met ingang gelegen onder een luifel op fraai bewerkte ijzeren zuiltjes, met hardstenen bordes en trap. Voorts onder meer blindnissen met geprofileerde omlijsting. Geprofileerde lijsten tussen de bouwlagen en een geprofileerde lijst met consoles ter beëindiging van de gevel. In het dakschild van het vooruitstekende bouwdeel twee dakkapellen met klassieke omlijsting, in het dakschild van het terugliggende bouwdeel oeil-de-boeufs. De beide zijgevels hebben een warande met hardstenen stoep en ijzeren hekwerk.
Tuin in Engelse landschapsstijl aan Biltstraatzijde met vijver en diverse bomen (enkele nog uit 1879) en struiken, gebruik makend van de waterloop van de Biltse Grift.
