Inleiding
WINKELWOONHUIS circa 1880 gebouwd in Neo-gotische stijl, gelegen op de hoek van de Biltstraat en de Mgr. van de Weteringstraat.
Omschrijving
Hoekpand op samengestelde plattegrond, bezit twee bouwlagen en met leien in Maasdekking gedekte kap. Bakstenen gevels aan Biltstraat en Mgr. van de Weteringstraat beide drie traveeën breed De korte gevelzijde die op de hoek is gelegen van beide straten bevat een uitgebouwd venster (begane gronds) onder balkon en eindigt in een gekanteelde trapgevel. De gevel aan Biltstraat met risalerende middentravee opgetrokken tot tuitgevel, waarin op tweede bouwlaag een driestrooksvenster met bovenlichten onder een rondafgesloten spaarveld met lobben geplaatst. Eerste bouwlaag met twee winkelpuien in 17e eeuwse stijl. Gevel aan Mgr. van de Weteringstraat eenvoudiger uitgevoerd met ingang in eerste travee links. Bouwlagen gescheiden door tandlijst. Tussen overhoeks geplaatste gevel en Mgr. van de Weteringstraat-gevel ligt een terugliggende travee, op begane grond niveau afgeschuind en met terugliggende tweede bouwlaag. Dit deel heeft een ingang, waarboven een balkon. Overhoekse (korte) gevel met uitgebouwd venster waarin samengesteld winkelraam onder rondboogjes, tegelijkertijd balkon voor tweede bouwlaag. Balkondeur geplaatst in spaarveld met gelijke boogafsluiting als beschreven in de gevel aan de Biltstraat. Alle vensters uitgevoerd als kruisvensters, met uitzondering van de winkelpuien.
Voorts ondermeer fijn smeedwerk voor balkons en als bekroning van gevel en schoorstenen.

WINKELWOONHUIS van algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische waarde als fraai voorbeeld van een pand in neo-gotiek. Voorts van stedenbouwkundige waarde vanwege de prominente situering van het beeldbepalende pand.

Description
Corner building on complex ground plan, possesses two storeys and with slate roof covered in Maas-bond. Brick facades on Biltstraat and Mgr. van de Weteringstraat both three bays wide. The short gable side located at the corner of both streets contains a projecting window (ground floor) under balcony and terminates in a crenellated stepped gable. The facade on Biltstraat with projecting centre bay rising to a spout gable, in which on second storey a three-light window with fanlights is placed under a rounded spandrel with lobes. Ground floor with two shop fronts in 17th century style. Facade on Mgr. van de Weteringstraat executed more simply with entrance in first bay on the left. Storeys separated by dentil band. Between the corner-placed facade and Mgr. van de Weteringstraat facade lies a recessed bay, on ground floor level cut at an angle and with recessed second storey. This part has an entrance, above which a balcony. Corner (short) facade with projecting window containing composite shop window under rounded arches, simultaneously balcony for second storey. Balcony door placed in spandrel with same arch closure as described in the facade on Biltstraat. All windows executed as cross windows, with the exception of the shop fronts.
