POORTGEBOUW van twee bouwlagen gelegen aan de Prins Hendriklaan op u-vormige plattegrond met aan de noordzijde een dwars bouwdeel met op de kop een toren, evenwijdig aan de Prins Hendriklaan is het acht traveëeen lange bouwdeel gelegen. Het gebouw is gedekt met een pannen schilddak, de toren met een tentdak. De noordgevel aan de Prins Hendriklaan heeft aan weerszijden twee tot topgevel opgetrokken traveeën. In de gevel diverse soorten vensters, ondermeer gekoppelde rondboogvensters, enkelvoudige vensters en kruisvensters, sommigen met glazen bouwstenen, andere met glas met roedeverdeling, boven de vensters ondermeer korfbogen met siermetselwerk, rondbogen met hardstenen sluitstenen en hardstenen lateien. Aan de westzijde op de begane grond een uit drie bogen bestaande arcade, alle drie de bogen uitgevoerd met hardstenen blokken. Binnen de arcade ondermeer geglazuurde baksteen decoratie. Voor de arcade een stenen bordes. In de tweede bouwlaag driemaal een dubbel kruisvenster, uitgevoerd in hardsteen. Voorts op de begane grond een tegen de gevel aangezet houten afdak, daarboven in de gevel een stenen kruisvenster, in de geveltop een rond venster. De toren bezit in de bovenste geleding afgesneden hoeken boven hardstenen hoekblokken die deze overgang accentueren. In de gevels van de toren stenen kruisvensters, met in het bovenste deel aan alle zijden galmgaten en klokken, tevens opschriften als "Rust Roest", "Zijt op tijd" en "Tijd slijt". In de kap diverse dakkapellen in chaletstijl.
Andere gevels in gelijksoortige vormgeving uitgevoerd.
Waardering
POORTGEBOUW van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de verbondenheid met de krijgsgeschiedenis en de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Tevens vanwege de architectonische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een militair poortgebouw met invloeden van het Berlagianisme; van stedenbouwkundige waarde vanwege de markering aan de Prins Hendriklaan.

GATE BUILDING of two storeys situated on the Prins Hendriklaan on u-shaped plan with on the north side a transverse building section with on the end a tower, parallel to the Prins Hendriklaan the eight bay long building section is situated. The building is covered with a tiled hipped roof, the tower with a pyramidal roof. The north facade on the Prins Hendriklaan has on either side two bays rising to stepped gable. In the facade various types of windows, among others coupled rounded arch windows, simple windows and cross windows, some with glass bricks, others with glass with glazing bars, above the windows among others basket arches with decorative brickwork, rounded arches with hardstone voussoirs and hardstone lintels. On the west side on the ground floor an arcade consisting of three arches, all three arches executed with hardstone blocks. Within the arcade among other things glazed brick decoration.
