Omschrijving
In baksteen opgetrokken POORTGEBOUW, bestaande uit een bewaarderswoning en kantoor, door een muur verbonden met de aula, het geheel naar ontwerp van A. Tepe uit 1880.
De bewaarderswoning bestaat uit een dwars bouwdeel, eenlaags met zadeldak tussen topgevels, en met een middenrisaliet, verhoogd als Vlaamse gevel waarin de ingang met verdiept gelegen deur met siersmeedwerk en venster in driepasnis. Haaks hierop een lager bouwdeel met aangekapt zadeldak, beëindigd met tuitgevel.
Links hiervan een muur - met in oorsprong een poort - als verbinding met de aula, nu gewijzigd in administratieruimte.
Waardering
Poortgebouw van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een dienstgebouw opgetrokken in neo-gotiek en als onderdeel van oeuvre van A. Tepe. Tevens van cultuurhistorische waarde als onderdeel van de R.K. begraafplaats St. Barbara.

Description
GATEHOUSE built of brick, consisting of a caretaker's house and office, connected by a wall to the hall, the whole to the design of A. Tepe from 1880.
The caretaker's house consists of a transverse building section, single storey with gabled roof between stepped gables, and with a central risalit, heightened as a Flemish gable in which the entrance with a recessed door with ornamental ironwork and a window in a trefoil arch. Perpendicular to this a lower building section with an appended gabled roof, ended with a spout gable.
To the left of this a wall - originally with a gateway - as a connection with the hall, now converted into an administrative space.
Valuation
Gatehouse of general importance because of architectural-historical value as an example of a service building built in neo-gothic and as part of the oeuvre of A. Tepe. Also of cultural-historical value as part of the R.K. cemetery St. Barbara.
