Inleiding
In 1879 naar ontwerp van J. Nijland in eclectische stijl gebouwd HERENHUIS, met HEKWERK aan voorzijde. Het pand is gesitueerd in een deel van de Biltstraat met karakteristieke, gepleisterde bebouwing.
Omschrijving
Pand op rechthoekige plattegrond, drie bouwlagen en schilddak, eerste bouwlaag in basement, iets onder het maaiveld gelegen. De bouwlagen worden onderling gescheiden door waterlijsten. Zes traveeën brede, geheel gepleisterde symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel, met twee traveeën brede middenrisaliet, hoger opgetrokken met klokvormige fronton. Grote, rondboogvormige vensters in souterrain, rechthoekige vensters in tweede bouwlaag en kleinere rechthoekige vensters in lagere derde bouwlaag. Alle vensters met geprofileerde omlijsting. Middenrisaliet voorts met in blokken gepleisterd basement, extra bekroning van de vensters en in blokken gepleisterde pilasters over de beide verdiepingen. Gevelbeëindiging met geprofileerde kroonlijst. Dakbekroning met klokvormige gevel waarin rond venster, aan beide uiteinden van de lijst een vaas. Gepleisterde oostgevel met ingang. De achtergevel heeft een vergelijkbare vormgeving.

Property on a rectangular ground plan, three storeys and hipped roof, first storey in basement, situated slightly below street level. The storeys are separated from one another by drip mouldings. Six-bay-wide, entirely plastered, symmetrically divided front facade, with two-bay-wide central risalit, drawn higher with bell-shaped pediment. Large, round-arched windows in basement, rectangular windows on the second storey and smaller rectangular windows in lower third storey. All windows with moulded moulding. Central risalit furthermore with basement executed in blocks of plaster, extra framing of the windows and pilasters executed in blocks of plaster over both storeys. Facade termination with moulded cornice. Roof termination with bell-shaped gable in which round window, at both ends of the moulding a vase. Plastered east facade with entrance. The rear facade has a similar form.
