Rij van vijf aaneengesloten HERENHUIZEN gebouwd rond 1856 in neo-renaissancestijl op een perceel tussen het landgoed de Oorsprong en de Maliebaan.
Omschrijving
Vijf gelijksoortige panden in één opzet op rechthoekige plattegrond, met souterrain, afwisselend twee en drie bouwlagen en een samengesteld pannen dak, links de hoek vormend met de Maliestraat. Geheel in baksteen met speklagen uitgevoerde gevels, aan de Mgr van de Weteringstraat in rijke neo-renaissance uitgewerkt, aan de Maliestraat soberder, met afgeschuinde hoek.
Zestien traveeën brede gevelwand aan de Mgr van de Weteringstraat, met twee risalerende delen (de panden 124 en 130), ieder vier traveeën breed, een middendeel van zes traveeën (nummer 126 en 128) en aan weerszijden nog twee traveeën (nummer 124 en Maliestraat 19). Elke risaliet heeft op de begane grond vier zware, rondboogvormige, gepleisterde openingen, in twee daarvan de ingang en in de andere twee een venster met bvast raam terwijl de overige schuiframen betreffen. Op de tweede en derde bouwlaag in de tweede en derde travee een balkon op bewerkte consoles en met stijlen welke het balkon voor de derde bouwlaag dragen. In de tweede risaliet (nummer 130) alleen een balkon op tweede bouwlaag. Derde bouwlaag in beide risalieten met houten schuifvensters met omgezette gepleisterde omlijsting. Hierboven een zware kroonlijst op consoles.
Zes traveeën breed middendeel met in eerste en derde bouwlaag vensters met boogvormige beëindiging en omgezette lijsten,(de lijsten zijn onderling met elkaar verbonden), tweede bouwlaag venster met omgezette lijsten. De ingangen zijn gesitueerd in de eerste en de zesde travee van dit bouwdeel. Op de koppen van het blok twee traveeën met souterrain, twee bouwlagen en vensters met rondboogvormige, geprofileerde gepleisterde omlijsting.
De zijgevel van het blok Maliestraat vormt de voorgevel van Maliestraat 19. Deze is rechts en links blind en heeft een middenrisaliet van twee vensterassen, in de rechter de voordeur. De hoektravee van het pand is afgeschuind en in soortgelijke architectuur uitgevoerd.
Beide gevels voorts gedecoreerd met onder meer omgezette, geprofileerde lijsten, gemetselde pilasters en tegeltableau's en beëindigd met een gekorniste kroonlijst. Diverse dakkapellen, enkel en dubbel, alle met pilasters en kroonlijst.
Waardering
Rij HERENHUIZEN van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als goed en gaaf voorbeeld van woningen opgetrokken in Hollandse Neo-renaissance met rijke detaillering. Voorts van stedenbouwkundig belang vanwege de beeldbepalende situering op een hoek.

Five similar properties in one design on a rectangular ground plan, with basement, alternately two and three storeys and a composite tiled roof, forming the corner on the left with the Maliestraat. Entirely executed in brick with speckled bands as facades, on the Mgr van de Weteringstraat worked out in rich neo-Renaissance, on the Maliestraat more sober, with chamfered corner.
Sixteen-bay-wide facade wall on the Mgr van de Weteringstraat, with two projecting sections (properties 124 and 130), each four bays wide, a middle section of six bays (numbers 126 and 128) and on either side two more bays (number 124 and Maliestraat 19). Each risalit has on the ground floor four heavy, round-arched, plastered openings, in two of which the entrance and in the other two a window with fixed frame while the remaining are sash windows. On the second and third storey in the second and third bay a balcony on worked consoles and with posts which carry the balcony for the third storey. In the second risalit (number 130) only a balcony on the second storey. Third storey in both risalits with wooden sash windows with reversed plastered moulding. Above this a heavy cornice on consoles.
Six-bay-wide middle section with on the first and third storey windows with arched termination and reversed mouldings (the mouldings are linked together with one another), second storey window with reversed mouldings. The entrances are situated in the first and the sixth bay of this building component. On the ends of the block two bays with basement, two storeys and windows with round-arched, moulded plastered moulding.
The side facade of the block on Maliestraat forms the front facade of Maliestraat 19. This is blind on the right and left and has a central risalit of two window axes, in the right one the front door. The corner bay of the property is chamfered and executed in similar architecture.
Both facades are further decorated with, among other things, reversed, moulded mouldings, brick pilasters and tile tableaux and terminated with a corniced cornice. Various roof dormers, single and double, all with pilasters and cornice.
