Inleiding
Rond 1880 gebouwd BRANDSPUITHUISJE in Chaletstijl en gesitueerd aan de Oosterspoorlijn (tracé Hilversum-Utrecht-Amersfoort )ter hoogte van de overweg.
Omschrijving
Pand op rechthoekige plattegrond van één bouwlaag met zadeldak evenwijdig aan de Wagenstraat. In het midden van langsgevels een met een topgevel met makelaar aangekapt zadeldak. Ter plaatse van de op een zelfde hoogte snijdende nokassen bevindt zich een houten dakruiter. Links en rechts is op de lange nok een ventilatiekanaal met kap geplaatst. In baksteen met bruine geglazuurde baksteen opgetrokken gevels onder een met leien gedekt dak. De gevel aan de Wagenstraat drie traveeën breed met licht risalerende middentravee opgetrokken tot topgevel. De korte gevel aan de Burgermeester Reigerstraat bevat slechts de brede inrit met deuren onder rondboogvormige beëindiging. Kap met breed overstek op schoren.

Brandspuithuisje van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf en markant voorbeeld van een evenwichtig ontworpen bedrijfsgebouw in Chaletstijl. Building on rectangular floor plan of one storey with gabled roof parallel to the Wagenstraat. In the centre of the long façades a gabled roof with mansard cap topped by a gable. At the point where the roof ridges intersect at the same height is located a wooden roof structure. Left and right on the long ridge a ventilation duct with hood is placed. In brick with brown glazed brick facades under a roof covered with slate. The façade on the Wagenstraat three bays wide with slightly projecting central bay rising to a gable. The short façade on the Burgermeester Reigerstraat contains only the broad carriage entrance with doors under a round-arched termination. Roof with wide eaves on brackets.
