HERENHUIS, als noordelijk gelegen hoekpand (complexonderdeel 1) deel uitmakend van een rij van vijf woningen. De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel telt drie bouwlagen met gedrukte begane grond, is drie vensterassen breed met een licht risalerende middenas die door een ingangspartij en een pilasterstelling op de verdiepingen alsook door een rond dakvenster wordt benadrukt. De gevel wordt horizontaal geleed door een dubbele cordonlijst ter hoogte van de eerste verdiepingsvloer en geheel boven, door een kroonlijst. De merendeels schuifvensters zijn alle gevat in een geprofileerde, gepleisterde omlijsting en alleen op de verdiepingen met een kuif uitgerust. Alleen het venster boven de door een segmentboog afgesloten ingangspartij, is rondboogvormig uitgevoerd. Op beide hoeken van de voorgevel wordt begane gronds de hoek door gepleisterde hoekblokken gemarkeerd. Hierboven een van een casement voorzien pilaster (met korintisch kapiteel) van de kolossale orde die rust op de cordonlijst. In de afgeschuinde hoek links komt per verdieping een venster met schuifraam voor. De linkerzijgevel telt drie vensterassen en is in hoofdopzet overeenkomstig de voorgevel uitgevoerd.. De vensters op de eerste verdieping zijn alle van het type frans venster met laag hekwerkje. De buitenste traveeën zijn hier licht risalerend uitgevoerd en hierop sluiten dakkapellen aan waarin een schouderboog boven het venster.
Waardering
Herenhuis, van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als goed en gaaf voorbeeld van in eclectische stijl opgetrokken woonhuis. Van stedenbouwkundige belang vanwege de ligging langs de Stadsbuitengracht en als onderdeel van deze bebouwing langs de singel. Ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van het complex.

Description
Detached house, as the northern corner building (complex component 1) forming part of a row of five dwellings. The symmetrically arranged front facade comprises three storeys with a compressed ground storey, is three window-axes wide with a slightly projecting middle axis which is emphasized by an entrance section and pilaster arrangement on the storeys as well as by a round roof window. The facade is horizontally articulated by a double horizontal moulding at the level of the first floor and entirely above by a cornice. The mostly sash windows are all set in a moulded, plastered frame and on the storeys only equipped with a hood. Only the window above the entrance section closed by a segmental arch is executed in semicircular form. On both corners of the front facade the corner is marked on the ground storey by plastered corner blocks. Above this a casement pilaster (with Corinthian capital) of the colossal order which rests on the moulding. In the chamfered corner on the left a sash window appears on each storey. The left side facade comprises three window-axes and is in principal arrangement executed in accordance with the front facade. The windows on the first storey are all of the French window type with low balustrade. The outer bays are slightly projecting here and roof dormers adjoin them in which a shoulder arch spans the window.

Detached house, of general importance owing to its architectural-historical value as a good and authentic example of a dwelling built in eclectic style. Of urban planning importance owing to its location along the Stadsbuitengracht and as part of this development along the canal. Ensemble value as part of the complex.
