Omschrijving
Slangemuur van gemetselde baksteen bestaande uit gebogen muurvlakken tussen vierkante kolommen.
Als voorbeeld van een slangemuur binnen stedelijke bebouwing uniek. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd als tuinmuur om de tuin behorende bij het pand Nieuwegracht 64, in het tweede kwart van de 18e eeuw. Een volledige ommuring met een slangemuur is uitzonderlijk. De vlakke middennis in de oost- of achtermuur doet een symmetrische tuinopzet met geaccentueerde middenas vermoeden. In 1879 is het deel aan de noordzijde afgebroken voor de bouw van de panden aan de Schalkwijkstraat.
De muur is van architectuur historisch belang.

Description
Serpentine wall of mortared brickwork consisting of curved wall surfaces between square columns.
Unique as an example of a serpentine wall within urban development. Originally built as a garden wall to enclose the garden belonging to the property Nieuwegracht 64, in the second quarter of the 18th century. A complete enclosure with a serpentine wall is exceptional. The flat central recess in the east or rear wall suggests a symmetrical garden layout with an accentuated central axis. In 1879 the part on the north side was demolished for the construction of the properties on Schalkwijkstraat.
The wall is of architecturally historical importance.
