Omschrijving
IJzeren DRAAIBRUG, 'Muntbrug', onderdeel uitmaken van het sluizencomplex, geslagen over het Merwedekanaal, ter plaatse van de Leidseweg. Gebouwd door ijzergieterij De Prins van Oranje in Den Haag en bestaande uit ondermeer twee gekoppelde vakwerkliggers, opgebouwd uit samengestelde geklonken profielijzers, met daartussen het brugdek. Brugleuning met drie gietijzeren lantaarns met naamplaatje en datering 1887. Het draaipunt van de brug rust op een vierkante bakstenen pijler met afgeschuinde hoeken, hierop ligt een ijzeren geleide-ring, waarop ijzeren wielen. De landhoofden waarop gietijzeren hekwerk als kadeleuning en aan elke zijde een lantaarnpaal, zijn van baksteen en natuursteen.

Description
Iron SWING BRIDGE, 'Muntbrug', forming part of the lock complex, spanning the Merwedekanaal at the location of Leidseweg. Built by the iron foundry De Prins van Oranje in The Hague and consisting, among other things, of two coupled lattice girders, constructed from composite riveted profile irons, with the bridge deck between them. Bridge railing with three cast-iron lanterns with nameplate and dating 1887. The pivot point of the bridge rests on a square brick pier with chamfered corners, on which sits an iron guide ring, with iron wheels. The abutments on which cast-iron railings serve as quay railings and on each side a lantern post, are of brick and natural stone.
N.B. The bridge deck has been renewed.
