SCHUTSLUIS, onderdeel uitmakend van het sluizencomplex in en om het Merwedekanaal, gelegen in de Leidsche Rijn ter hoogte van Park Oog in Al. De landhoofden zijn in baksteen en natuursteen uitgevoerd met houten sluisdeuren, gedateerd 1914 en 1916. Op de landhoofden ijzeren handbedieningsmechanismen, hekwerk.
N.B. De oorspronkelijke houten puntdeuren zijn niet meer aanwezig.
Waardering
Schutsluis van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als functioneel waterbouwkundig onderdeel van het sluizencomplex in en om het Merwedekanaal. Van situationele waarde vanwege de ligging in de Leidsche Rijn.
