Inleiding
De TUINMANS(PARKWACHTERS)WONING is tegelijk met de aanleg van het park in 1898 aangelegd in de zuidwestelijke hoek van het trapeziumvormige terrein. De woning is ontworpen door Albert Breunissen Troost (1832-1900), die te Sneek werkzaam was als directeur van de gemeentelijke gasfabriek en als particulier architect. Breunissen Troost is op vele plaatsen in Fryslân bouwkundig actief geweest. De woning is gebouwd door timmerman Martinus Rondema in Ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl. In 1905 is een gedenkplaat van zwart marmer in de westgevel aangebracht; deze was een geschenk van de Sneker glasfabrikant Marinus Josephus Houwink. In 1988 is de plaat gerestaureerd door de firma De Vries Schilderwerken B.V. te Sneek.
De woning is in de jaren dertig verbouwd door timmerman Cornelis Faber uit Sneek. Bij deze verbouwing is de kap opgehoogd. Een recentere verbouwing door de gemeente heeft het pand voor een deel het uiterlijk van vroeger terug gegeven.
Omschrijving
De parkwachterswoning heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, één schoorsteen en wordt door een schilddak van zwarte Hollandse pannen gedekt. Op het westelijke dakschild zit een rechthoekige dakkapel, in het zuidelijke dakschild zit een rechthoekige, driedelige dakkapel. Het pand is wit gepleisterd. In de zuidgevel zitten twee rechthoekige vensters, in de noordgevel een houten deur met bovenlicht en een groot rechthoekig venster, in de westgevel één rechthoekig venster en in het midden een zwarte glazen gedenkplaat. Het geschrift in gouden letters, omlijst en gedecoreerd in de stijl van de Art Nouveau door florale, slingerende motieven luidt:" WILHELMINA PARK/ in het koningsjaar 1898 door het Old Burger Weeshuis aangelegd en sinds 12 mei 1899 in gebruik bij de gemeente Sneek wordt ten zeerste in de zorg van het publiek aanbevolen". In de oostgevel zijn vier rechthoekige vensters geplaatst.
Waardering

Introduction
The GARDENER'S (PARKKEEPER'S) DWELLING was built at the same time as the park was laid out in 1898 in the southwestern corner of the trapezoidal site. The dwelling was designed by Albert Breunissen Troost (1832-1900), who worked in Sneek as director of the municipal gas factory and as a private architect. Breunissen Troost was architecturally active in many places in Fryslân. The dwelling was built by carpenter Martinus Rondema in a craftsman-traditional style. In 1905 a commemorative plaque of black marble was placed in the west facade; this was a gift from the Sneek glassworks manufacturer Marinus Josephus Houwink. In 1988 the plaque was restored by the firm De Vries Schilderwerken B.V. in Sneek.
The dwelling was renovated in the nineteen-thirties by carpenter Cornelis Faber from Sneek. During this renovation the roof truss was raised. A more recent renovation by the municipality has partially restored the building to its former appearance.
Description

The south facade has two rectangular windows, the north facade has a wooden door with fanlight and a large rectangular window, the west facade has one rectangular window and in the centre a black glazed commemorative plaque. The inscription in golden letters, framed and decorated in the Art Nouveau style with floral, winding motifs reads: "WILHELMINA PARK / laid out in the regal year 1898 by the Old Burger Weeshuis and in use by the municipality of Sneek since 12 May 1899 is most heartily recommended to the care of the public". In the east facade four rectangular windows are placed.
Valuation
The parkkeeper's dwelling, belonging to the Wilhelmina Park complex in Sneek, is of general cultural-historical significance:
