TOLWONING MET TOLHEK behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Dickninge. Aan het begin van de Staphorsterweg, aan de oude postweg van Antwerpen naar Groningen, staat een 19de-eeuws voormalige tolwoning annex keuterij met bijbehorend tolhek. Het op langwerpige grondslag opgetrokken pand heeft een bakstenen voorhuis en aansluitend een uitgebouwd deels bakstenen deels houten achterhuis bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder een met riet gedekt zadeldak met houten windveren en een makelaar aan de voorzijde en een beschoten geveltop met makelaar aan de achterzijde. Het dakschild van het achterhuis is doorlopend aan de westzijde. Op beide nokeinden staat een gemetselde schoorsteen met borden. De symmetrische voorgevel (straatzijde) heeft twee vijftienruitsvensters met luiken en daarboven een klein rond venster. Verder zes- en vierruitsvensters met luiken en een toegangsdeur. Het gepotdekselde achterhuis is uitgebreid met een aankubbing onder een met rode pannen gedekt lessenaarsdakje. Ter zijde van de tolwoning staat een 19de-eeuws TOLHEK bestaande uit een houten slagboom en een eenvoudig ijzeren spijlenhek met aparte voetgangersdoorgang.

TOLL HOUSE WITH TOLL GATE belonging to the historic country estate Dickninge. At the beginning of Staphorsterweg, on the old postal route from Antwerp to Groningen, stands a 19th-century former toll house together with smallholding and associated toll gate. The building erected on an elongated ground plan has a brick front house and adjoining an extended partially brick and partially timber rear house consisting of one storey under a reed-thatched gabled roof with wooden roof finials and a makelaar at the front and a boarded gable top with makelaar at the rear. The roof slope of the rear house is continuous on the west side. On both ridge ends stands a mortared chimney with cap stones. The symmetrical front facade (street side) has two fifteen-pane windows with shutters and above a small round window. Further six- and four-pane windows with shutters and an entrance door. The rear house with slate roof is extended with an outbuilding under a red tile-covered catslide roof. To the side of the toll house stands a 19th-century TOLL GATE consisting of a wooden boom gate and a simple iron railings fence with separate pedestrian passage.
