Office building, erected on a rectangular ground plan in red brick above a natural stone rusticated basement. The building comprises a basement, three storeys (of which the second storey as bel-étage) and an attic. The hipped roof is covered with tiles. Rectangular sash windows with stained glass fanlights and wooden frames. In the basement five small double rectangular windows with decorative grille work. The front facade on the Parklaan is six window-bays wide and strongly vertically articulated by means of wall piers. The entrance, a moulded wooden door with natural stone decorated surround, is located at far right on the first storey, accessed via a natural stone staircase. On the architrave above the entrance originally stood in stone relief: 'ELEVATORHUIS'. Below and above the fanlights of the windows of the first storey a continuous natural stone band. In the facade planes below the windows of the bel-étage and third storey a decorated facade stone. The wall piers are terminated with a derivative of the Ionic capital. Between these capitals natural stone garlands and above in relief 'GEM' (Grain Elevator Co.). The facade is closed with a substantial natural stone cornice on consoles. Below the cornice a dentil course.

The attic is crowned by a curved tympanum with in the arch tympanum a tile panel with relief of a ship flanked by grain silos. The arch ring around the relief is laid in brick, around it natural stone voussoirs and a decorative moulding that continues in the roof line. On the roof ridge, between the monumental chimney stacks, an openwork natural stone roof crest.

Interior: the bel-étage is accessible via the very richly detailed central staircase, a large rectangular hall with monumental oak staircase with cast-iron ornaments and likewise return gallery on the first storey, under a barrel vault with coffering in which stained glass. On the ground floor a polychrome tile mosaic. The walls have a marble panelling and on the first storey the coffering of the ceiling is furthermore carried through at the top with in the centre a medallion-shaped ornament. The access to the landing is located under round arches. Here also hangs a cast-iron light fitting. On the bel-étage in the south-eastern corner is the meeting room, still virtually in original condition, with richly ornamented wooden panelling. In the same style a long rectangular table with chairs and a sideboard. In the fireplace tile panels (Koninklijke Goedewaagen Gouda) depicting a grain elevator, made on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Grain Elevator Company (1908-1948). The fireplace has a marble chimneypiece with wooden decorated surround. The ceiling has a stuccoed central field closed by a dentil course and around it wooden coffering. In the south-western corner is the director's office likewise with wooden panelling and coffered ceiling. The fireplace has a marble chimneypiece.
