Inleiding
BOTANISCHE TUIN aangelegd in sobere landschapsstijl en behorend bij het complex Scholengemeenschap Van Oldenbarnevelt.
Omschrijving
De schooltuin is aangelegd op een rechthoekig stuk grond dat ruwweg wordt begrensd door de school aan de zuidzijde, het Afrikaanderpark aan de noordzijde en het Afrikaanderplein aan de westzijde. De tuinaanleg is uitgevoerd in gemengde tuinstijl met deels landschappelijke en deels formele elementen. Het padenstelsel heeft een in hoofdzaak landschappelijk grondplan. De voornamelijk voor biologisch onderwijs bedoelde beplanting bestaat uit een rijk assortiment van specifieke soorten planten, kruiden, heesters en bomen die voornamelijk tot de gematigde klimaatzone behoren.

Description
The school garden is laid out on a rectangular plot of land roughly bounded by the school on the south side, Afrikaanderpark on the north side and Afrikaanderplein on the west side. The garden design is executed in mixed garden style with partly landscape and partly formal elements. The path system has a predominantly landscape-based ground plan. The planting, primarily intended for biological education, consists of a rich assortment of specific species of plants, herbs, shrubs and trees which predominantly belong to the temperate climate zone.

Botanical garden design with path system and planting of social-cultural and garden-architectural-historical importance as an original functional component of the School Association Van Oldenbarnevelt complex.
