Omschrijving onderdeel 4: VOORBURCHT MET KEERMUREN en TOEGANGSBRUG.
Het rechthoekige voorplein is deels ommuurd met een in oorsprong middeleeuwse ringmuur voorzien van bastions (XIXd/XXa) in het midden en op de zuidoosthoek. De muur werd in 1830 geslecht en in 1956 op de oude fundamenten herbouwd. De oostelijke meermalen gerestaureerde keer- annex walmuur heeft een bloktandlijst. Het meest noordelijke deel is in 1837 herbouwd in aansluiting aan de wijzigingen van het koetshuis, daar is een gedichte doorgang ter hoogte van de waterspiegel. Het hoofdgebouw is bereikbaar via een houten BRUG met gemetselde brughoofden, een eenvoudige ijzeren balustrade. Het pad van het hoofdgebouw naar de brug heeft een bestrating van gele ijsselsteentjes in visgraatverband.

De VOORBURCHT MET KEERMUREN en TOEGANGSBRUG behorende tot de buitenplaats Soelen is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:

Description
Description component 4: FORECOURT WITH RETAINING WALLS and ACCESS BRIDGE.
The rectangular forecourt is partly enclosed by a ring wall of medieval origin provided with bastions (second half of 19th / early 20th century) in the middle and on the south-east corner. The wall was demolished in 1830 and rebuilt in 1956 on the old foundations. The eastern, repeatedly restored retaining and boundary wall has a block-tooth drip moulding. The most northern part was rebuilt in 1837 in connection with alterations to the coach house; there is a closed passage at the level of the water surface. The main building is accessible via a wooden BRIDGE with masonry bridge abutments, a simple iron balustrade. The path from the main building to the bridge is paved with yellow Ijssel tiles in herringbone bond.
