Inleiding
PASTORIE van de Parochie O.L.V. Onbevlekt Ontvangen, gelegen naast het R.K. kerkgebouw. Het pand is gebouwd in 1923 naar ontwerp van architect J.H.H. van Groenendael uit Maastricht, in traditionalistische stijl met elementen van het Eclecticisme. Vensters oorspronkelijk met kleine roedeverdeling en houten luiken, thans kunststof rolluiken. Pastorie door uitbouw aan voorgevel verbonden met de kerk.
Omschrijving
Pastorie met rechthoekige plattegrond in twee bouwlagen met afgeplat schilddak met Tuiles du Nord. Dakkapellen. Gevels in baksteen metselwerk in kruisverband. Nivelsteiner plint en speklagen in mergelsteen ter hoogte van de bovenkant van de vensters. Keramische decoraties in diverse geveldelen. Guirlandes in mergelband of stucwerk onder de dakrand. In de gevel rechthoekige houten vensters met baksteen dorpels, strek en natuursteen sluitsteen. Vensters in eerste laag werden omstreeks 1990 voorzien van tralies. Voorgevel met authentieke houten deur onder vierkante luifel, boven luifel een bovenlicht. Aan linkerdeel voorgevel een verbinding van één bouwlaag naar sacristie en kerk. Rechter zijgevel per laag vier vensters, gegroepeerd per twee. Ruitornamenten in mergelbanden, beeld in mergel met smalle pilasters met fronton op basement met rozetafbeelding. Twee dakkapellen op dak. Achtergevel in eerste laag kleine erker met zinken dakje, waarnaast drie vensters. In tweede laag vier vensters. Linkerzijgevel per laag vier vensters gegroepeerd per twee, trap naar kelder met baksteen muurtje. Pastorie is gelegen in parkachtige tuin.
Interieur indeling is redelijk in tact hetgeen blijkt uit de situering van hal, trappenhuis en kamers. Het volgende is onder meer van belang o.a. houten trap met lambrisering, houten deuromlijstingen. Bij trap in tussenwand een glas-in-lood paneel met een afbeelding van St. Hubertus in houten lijst van glazenier Charles Eyck.
Waardering
De pastorie is van cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een geestelijke en typologische ontwikkeling.
De pastorie bezit architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege het bijzonder belang voor de geschiedenis van de architectuur, als voorbeeld van het oeuvre van architect J.H.H. van Groenendael, wegens de hoogwaardige esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp, het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. PRESBYTERY of the Parish of O.L.V. Onbevlekt Ontvangen, situated beside the Roman Catholic church building. The property was built in 1923 to the design of architect J.H.H. van Groenendael from Maastricht, in traditionalist style with elements of Eclecticism. Description
Presbytery with rectangular ground plan in two storeys with flattened hipped roof with Tuiles du Nord. Roof dormers. Facades in brick masonry in Flemish bond. Nivelsteiner plinth and speckled courses in marl stone at the height of the top of the windows. Ceramic decorations in various facade sections. Garlands in marl band or stucco work below the roof edge. In the facade rectangular wooden windows with brick sills, stretcher and natural stone lintels. Windows on the first storey were provided with grilles circa 1990. Front facade with authentic wooden door beneath square canopy, above canopy a fanlight. On left part of front facade a connection of one storey to sacristy and church. Right side facade per storey four windows, grouped in pairs. Diamond ornaments in marl bands, image in marl with narrow pilasters with pediment on base with rose representation. Two roof dormers on roof. Rear facade on first storey small bay window with zinc roof, beside which three windows. On second storey four windows. Left side facade per storey four windows grouped in pairs, cellar stairs with brick wall. Presbytery is situated in park-like garden.
Interior layout is reasonably intact as evidenced by the location of hall, stairwell and rooms. The following is among other things of importance such as wooden staircase with panelling, wooden door surrounds. At staircase in intermediate wall a stained-glass panel with an image of St. Hubertus in wooden frame by glazier Charles Eyck.
Valuation
The presbytery is of cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a spiritual and typological development.
