Inleiding
Dubbele DIENSTWONING uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw.
De woningen liggen op het landgoed Treeswijk, ze zijn gebouwd in ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl voor mr. A.A. van Velthoven president van de Eindhovense rechtbank.
Direct zuidelijk van de woningen ligt het beschermde landgoed Treeswijk. De voor- of oostgevel staat aan de Valkenswaardseweg.
Omschrijving
De eenlaags woonhuizen hebben een zadeldak met geknikte dakvoet tussen tuitgevels gedekt met verbeterde Hollandse pannen. In het dak twee kapellen met houten windveren.
De voorgevel van beide huizen is spiegelbeeldig opgezet. Het woongedeelte met kamer/ opkamer en woonkamer bevindt zich op de kop van de huizen. In het midden bevindt zich het bedrijfsgedeelte, thans o.a. garage.
De schuifvensters hebben een vijfentwintig-ruitsverdeling met onderluiken.
Deze zijn voorzien van in twee kleuren geschilderde diabolo's. In de zijgevels tweedelige vensters met eveneens een kleine roedenverdeling.
Opzij van het huis een erf afscheiding met beukenhaag.
Waardering
De dubbele dienstwoning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, met name de stichting van buitenplaatsen aan de uitvalswegen van de industriesteden. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarden vanwege de eenvoudige traditionele detaillering. Het heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de samenhang van de bebouwing van de inrichting van de landschappelijke tuin. Het is gaaf bewaard gebleven.

Double TIED COTTAGE from the second half of the 19th century.
The dwellings are situated on the Treeswijk estate, they were built in craft-traditional style for Mr. A.A. van Velthoven, president of the Eindhoven court.
Directly south of the dwellings lies the protected Treeswijk estate. The front or east facade is on the Valkenswaardseweg.
Description
The single-storey dwellings have a gabled roof with a curved eaves line between spout gables covered with improved Dutch tiles. In the roof two chapels with wooden weather vanes.
The front facade of both houses is set up as mirror images. The residential section with chamber/back room and living room is situated at the end of the houses. In the middle is the business section, now including garage.
The sash windows have a twenty-five-pane glazing arrangement with lower shutters.
These are provided with diabolo shapes painted in two colours. In the side facades two-part windows with likewise small glazing bars.
Beside the house an area boundary with beech hedge.
Valuation
The double tied cottage is of general importance. The property has cultural-historical importance as a particular expression of cultural and socio-economic development, particularly the establishment of country estates on the approach roads of industrial cities. It has architectural-historical values because of the simple traditional detailing. It has ensemble values because of the coherence of the construction and the arrangement of the landscaped garden.
