Inleiding
In 1924 door P.L. Marnette ten behoeve van de uitbreiding van Amsterdam-Zuid ontworpen LANTAARNPAAL in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School. Het model werd bij de ijzergieterij Nering Bögel te Deventer vervaardigd. Ook buiten Amsterdam vond het model toepassing zoals bij Spaar en Hout waar ter verlichting van de oprijlaan een zig-zagopstelling werd gerealiseerd van twee palen aan de noordzijde en drie aan de zuidzijde. In 1986 werden de vijf lantaarnpalen alle aan de zuidzijde van de oprijlaan geplaatst.
Omschrijving
Conische in gietijzer vervaardigde lantaarnpaal bestaande uit een verticaal gedeelte onder het maaiveld, een vierkante voetplaat op maaiveldhoogte, een uitkragende voet, een conische schacht en een open armatuur afgedekt door een cirkelvormige plaat met halve bol. Aan de onderzijde van de schacht staat: NERING BÖGEL DEVENTER. Aan de andere zijde bevindt zich een serviceluik. Armatuur en serviceluik zijn afneembaar.
Waardering
De lantaarnpaal is van algemeen belang als gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van industriële vormgeving uit het Interbellum, alsmede als functioneel en oorspronkelijk onderdeel van het verzorgingstehuis Spaar en Hout.

Introduction
In 1924 designed by P.L. Marnette for the expansion of Amsterdam-South LAMP POST in the style of the Amsterdam School. The model was manufactured at the iron foundry Nering Bögel in Deventer. The model was also applied outside Amsterdam such as at Spaar en Hout where a zigzag arrangement of two posts on the north side and three on the south side was realized to light the drive. In 1986 all five lamp posts were placed on the south side of the drive.
Description
Conical cast iron lamp post consisting of a vertical section below ground level, a square base plate at ground level, a cantilevered foot, a conical shaft and an open fixture covered by a circular plate with half-sphere. At the bottom of the shaft is written: NERING BÖGEL DEVENTER. On the other side is a service hatch. Fixture and service hatch are removable.
Valuation
The lamp post is of general importance as a well-preserved example of industrial design from the Interbellum period, as well as a functional and original component of the care home Spaar en Hout.
