GRAFMONUMENT, opgericht tot nagedachtenis van de kunstenaar J. Mammen in de stijl van de Art Nouveau uit 1922, behorende tot het complex "Algemene Begraafplaats Amersfoortsestraatweg" te Bussum.
Omschrijving
Het grafmonument bestaat uit een rechthoekig vak van 170x100cm, afgezet met middelgrote rivierkeien en een staande zandstenen zerk van 162x75x14cm met halfronde bovenzijde. De ornamentiek en funeraire symbolen op de zerk worden gevormd door een uil die in het midden door de ronding heen steekt, twee axiaal geplaatste zandlopers op de grens van de halve circel en het rechthoekige vlak van de steen en een ossekop met schild tussen de zandlopers. De zijden van de zerk zijn voorzien van een gehouwen rondboogfries. In de steen is een rechthoekig verdiept vlak uitgespaard, omsloten door een rand van koper waarin de tekst in verheven kapitaal: "J.MAMMEN/21 SEPT 3 MEI/1864 1922/DE KUNST IS LANG/HET LEVEN KORT/ZIJN DANKBARE VRIENDEN".
